The Pact

The Pact by S.E. Lynes

4 slow burning stars🌟🌟🌟🌟

You made a promise to your sister. It could destroy your daughter.

The Daughter

15-year-old Rosie lies in hospital fighting for her life. She’s trying to tell her mother what happened to her, and how she got there, but she can’t speak the words out loud.

The Mother

Rosie’s mother Toni has a secret. She had a traumatic childhood, and she and her sister Bridget made each other a promise thirty years ago: that they could never speak the truth about what happened to them as children, and that they would protect each other without asking for help from others, no matter what…

Rosie was Toni’s second chance to get things right: a happy, talented girl with her whole life ahead of her. Having lost her husband in a tragic accident, Toni has dedicated her life to keeping Rosie safe from harm.

But Rosie has plans that her mother doesn’t know about. She has dreams and ambitions – of love, of a career, of a life beyond the sheltered existence that her mother has created for her. But the secrets Rosie has been keeping have now put her life in danger.

The Pact

In order to save Rosie, Toni may have to break her lifelong promise to her sister… and open doors to her past she hoped would remain closed forever.

This is not a fast-paced page turning psychological thriller…. it is more of a slow burning character study…. A study of relationships between women and in particular that of mother and daughter…..

Rosie is your typical teenage girl wanting that taste of freedom…. Toni is her very overprotective mother fighting her every step of the way…. Aunt Bridge is sometimes the voice of reason, but because she knows Toni’s secrets she does understand where she’s coming from….. how do you let your daughter spread her wings when your experience was so ugly?

The story is told from the perspective of the above named characters…. it is told from present and flashback scenes…. and a lot of it is The characters inner dialogue…. Rosie in particular….. I really enjoyed Rosie’s inner dialogue…. I think the author did a really good job with capturing a teenager…. however she did sound exactly like an American teenager….. I had no idea the British use the word like as much as we do in California….. seriously if I had a dollar for every time I said the word like in a day I’d probably be rich by the end of it, hard habit to break, for sure!

My favorite part of the book was the interaction between these three girls/women you knew how much they loved and were there for each other….. and parenting is tough, the more rules you lay down, the more likely your child will be dishonest with you…. if Rosie hadn’t had to sneak around she might have shared some of these things with her mother and avoided a lot of what happened in this book….. but hind sight is always 20/20 isn’t it?

The twist in this book was fairly predictable, even I figured it out and this is rare…. but I did really enjoy the relationships and characters in this book… I also found the book very thought-provoking especially in regards to questions of motherhood, teenagers, and social media…. social media played a huge part in this book…. it really is a different world from when I grew up never needed to worry about how many likes I got…..

I recommend this if you are in the mood for a slow burning character driven book that will make you think….

Her eyes came up, a flash of recognition there. “Yes?”

“Are you going to sign the contract or do you have more questions?”

She picked up the pen sitting on top of the contracts that would bind the two of them together for the next six months. They would reevaluate the relationship at that point in time, but for the next six months, she was his. His bodyguard. His submissive.

Bought and properly paid for. He would take care of her and she would give him what he needed.

She signed with a flourish and sat back, a gleam of curiosity in her eyes.

He was curious, too, and there was zero reason to not satisfy their curiosity. Hard and soft limits had been gone over. They would find their communication style as they went along. But first she should understand that he was in control.

“Come sit on my lap.”

She didn’t hesitate. She stood and turned, shifting so she could maneuver her way onto his lap.

Her weight came down on him and he wrapped an arm around her waist. Damn but she made him feel big. He’d seen her take out a man twice her size, but sitting here in his lap she felt small and vulnerable, and fuck but that did it for him.

He slid a hand along her knee, letting himself indulge in the silky-smooth feel of her skin against his palm. “Did you do as I asked?”

He was well aware his voice had gone husky, deeper than normal.

“Yes, Joshua.” She squirmed the tiniest bit, as though trying to find a comfortable position. It might be difficult for her because she was sitting right on his cock, and it was harder and thicker than he could ever remember it being.

“How can I trust you?” This was all part of the game he loved. Here he could let go and play out the darker of his impulses—to control, to take, to possess.

See. Want. Have.

“You’ll have to check,” she replied. “Though shouldn’t we go inside?”

He reached out and picked up his cell with his free hand, pushing one number and connecting to the security room. He put them on speaker. She needed to understand what she was up against in order for the game to be fair. “Landon?”

“This is Burke,” the deep voice replied. “Shane’s on patrol. What can I do for you?”

“Burke, I would like to fuck my submissive on the third-floor balcony. Is anyone watching us? Can you see any cameras pointed our way?”

A low, masculine chuckle came across the line. “No, Mr. Hunt. And given the angle relative to the beach, you should enjoy your evening without worry. The only peepers I would worry about would be your next-door neighbor, and Jared is out for the night.”

“I wouldn’t care if he wasn’t. Keep up the good work.” He hung up and his hand tightened. “I would prefer when we’re playing that you don’t question me like that. I know where I want to fuck you. I know when I want to fuck you, and I’m in charge. If I want you in the middle of a crowded freeway, your only response is a yes or a no. Not to question me.”

She seemed to relax back against him, as though she was giving up the struggle and choosing to submit. “Yes, Joshua. Yes, I understand, and yes to the sex. Please.”

He liked the breathy please and loved how she squirmed. Still, he wasn’t absolutely sure she’d obeyed him, and he was a man who required proof. He slid his hand up her thigh. “Spread your legs for me.”

Her knees fell apart, and he could feel the heat from her core. He slipped a hand up until he made contact with her softest skin. No panties. Nothing but wet heat waiting for him, and it was obvious the play had cranked her up, too. His free hand eased one button on her shirt free, and then another and another until he could move in like a soldier conquering territory. No bra. Her breasts were like the rest of her. Soft and delicate. One nipple rolled against his palm, hardening then and there.

“I can see you’ve been an obedient sub,” he said, his mouth against her ear. “You need to stay that way or there will be punishment. I’m not a sadist, Kayla. I truly don’t get off on your pain, but I will give it to you if you need it. I am a disciplinarian. I gain satisfaction from your obedience. In exchange, I’ll show you how good it can be to obey me.”

NY Times and USA Today bestselling author Lexi Blake lives in North Texas with her husband, three kids, and the laziest rescue dog in the world. She began writing at a young age, concentrating on plays and journalism. It wasn’t until she started writing romance and urban fantasy that she found the stories of her heart. She likes to find humor in the strangest places and believes in happy endings no matter how odd the couple, threesome, or foursome may seem.

4 steamy stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Well my over eager self strikes again! Turns out this is the 15th and last book in the Masters and Mercenaries series…. it appears as though each book has its own HEA so it did work as a standalone…. although I was missing a lot of the backstory on the agency that the girls worked for and the involvement with the CIA and some other details, but it still worked….

Kayla is a double agent, hired to be the bodyguard/submissive for Josh…. Kayla is sassy and spunky and pretty kick ass, she is a female bodyguard after all…. josh is just pretty much an ass, but I guess he’s hot and he has his reasons, but still… for the majority of this book I thought Kayla was way too good for Josh…. although he did redeem himself a bit in the very end….

My favorite part of this book however was all the espionage and intrigue…. there was a ton of action and a lot of secrets were revealed…. I think I prefered the suspense in this book to the romance, but that was just a matter of personal taste….. and if you didn’t gather from the above mentioned submissive, if you are not into a book with some pretty graphic sex scenes, this is not for you!

Absolutely recommend for lovers of the romance genre with a lot of steam and suspense🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Exclusive Excerpt:

I begin walking backwards so I can check how my girls are moving, not paying attention to my surroundings. It’s too late for my balance when I feel a ridge behind my knees and I’m falling, quickly submerged into the full water trough I hadn’t noticed by the fence.

“Shit!” I holler, sputtering as I try to push my hair out of my face and crawl out of the water at the same time.

Rough hands grip my arms, pulling me out as I yelp in surprise. A deep, masculine laugh fills me with horror and embarrassment.

Oh no . . .

As I’m set on the ground, the hands falling away once I’m steady, I shiver.

“I guess that’s one way to cool down.” The low, amused voice sends tingles down my spine.

Pushing my soaking hair out of my face and closing my eyes to gather my wits, I take a deep breath before looking up at my rescuer. My brain freezes as I stare at Dane in shock and embarrassment.

Oh. My. God.

The burning of my face betrays me as a blush spreads over my cheeks and I resist burying my face into my hands. Dane chuckles and slowly moves his gaze over me, starting at my sandaled feet and making his way up my bare legs to my soaked yoga shorts and tank top.

I can feel it clinging to me and the cool breeze causing my nipples to stand at attention, like this moment wasn’t already humiliating enough. Fuck my life.

Lastly, he examines my flushed face, the mess that is my wet and tangled hair and settles on my green eyes with a sexy grin.

Trying to maintain some dignity, I arch a brow at the humored expression in his gaze and decide to return the favor. I haven’t seen Dane since he was eleven years old and at twenty-four, he has become a devastatingly handsome man. His jeans and shirt accentuate his strong, well-toned muscles. He is tall and I need to tilt my head back slightly to examine his face. His strong and chiseled jaw, short, perfectly styled hair, and pale green eyes complete the swoon worthy package.

He was cute as a boy, but the man in front of me has ignited my hormones as my mind wanders to all the dirty things I could do to him, starting with those kissable lips. This train of thought makes me blush even darker and I quickly move my eyes away from his lips to his eyes.

His shocked expression at my boldness is apparent at the drop in his jaw and I smirk at him cheekily. This past year has changed me into a shell of who I was, but I’m not the shy ten-year-old he once knew, the one who followed him around doing whatever he wanted just to spend time with him.

Thirteen years have passed since I last saw Dane and his brother Ryan. They were both away working when I visited last. Their sister, Lia, has been my best friend since before we understood what a friend was. This family was once a huge part of my life, I’m hoping that connection still remains.

Finally feeling a little more composed, considering the circumstances, I grin at him mischievously and before he can stop me, I step in and give him a hug. My heart kicks up a notch when his hard muscles press against me, I can’t help my mind from wandering straight back into the gutter.

Stepping back quickly I smirk at the water now soaking his front before the hard ridges of his abs molding to his shirt distracts me. Dragging my gaze away from the delectable muscles teasing me, I check to make sure I haven’t physically started to drool.

The thrumming of my body reacting to his has me squirming as I try to refocus my thoughts away from imagining what it would be like to run my hands over his stomach and . . .

What the fuck is wrong with me? This is Dane. We used to go on adventures in the forest and have movie nights in their rec room. What is it about this reunion that has shifted him from friend to a man my heart flutters over? Blushing at the humiliating entrance back into his life and the line my thoughts are crossing, I search for the first thing I can think of to say.

“Where are Lia and Ryan?” I must be imagining the disappointment that flashes across his face at the abrupt shift. There is no way he could be thinking along the same lines as me, I know how awful I look. The shadows under my eyes, the heaviness I now carry with me, I hardly recognize myself when I look in the mirror.

“Lia had some work she needed to get done for new clients and Ryan is checking the south fence line. I came to invite you over for dinner at Lia’s request.” He smirks at me as I stand soaking wet in front of him. “Dinner is at six, so you have time to—compose yourself.”

Ignoring his banter, I gratefully accept the invitation as I did not stop along the way to pick up any supplies. With one last chuckle and a look I can’t decipher he saunters away from me. My eyes seem to be glued to him as he walks away, his jeans snugly forming to his perfect ass. Mentally shaking myself I peel my eyes away before turning to the house.

Exclusive Excerpt:

Ollie runs to the end of the arena, waiting for my cue. Kicking my heels out, I say, “Whoa.” He slides to a stop, the tracks he’s left behind are straight and true.

After leaving Emma’s house an hour ago, I desperately needed to get my mind off weddings, and relationships, and stupid men who fuck me and then avoid me after giving me a taste of something I forgot I desperately needed.

So, I saddled Ollie and have been going through some reining patterns. Show season is upon us, the first in just over a month, and I want to be sure we’re ready.

Lifting my right rein, I roll my spur into his left flank. He spins on the spot, the room around us blurring with the speed of the spin. Stopping him, I let him rest a moment before lifting my left rein and this time rolling my spur into his right flank. He spins in the opposite direction, the tightness of the circle envied by many.

Ollie is eight years old and has been my reining horse since we entered the Futurity, the chance for first time reining horses to show what they have and win big, when he was three years old. In the five years I’ve had him, the bond we’ve formed is envied both in and out of the arena. He will be with me until the day he dies, despite offers of tens of thousands of dollars to buy him.

Patting Ollie on his neck, I frown when I see Alex through the large windows at the end of the arena. Everything I’ve been trying to clear my head of comes back with a vengeance. It really bothers me that Alex initiated what happened that night, and then proceeded to avoid me like I’m a carrier of the plague.

I didn’t ask him to pin me against the counter and kiss me with an explosive passion that still has my body thrumming six months later. Nor did I ask him to wrap my legs around his waist and fuck me until I had the most earth shattering orgasm I’ve ever experienced.

Growling, I nudge Ollie into a canter, circling the arena working on lead changes until we are both covered in a sheen of sweat. I love the speed of this sport, and the connection between horse and rider. It’s a testament to how frustrated I am that I don’t feel better after a solid hour of working.

Slowing Ollie to a trot, I begin our cooldown. When his breathing has slowed, I dismount and walk him around the arena a couple times to ensure he’s cooled down enough. Leading him to the tie stall, I quickly untack him and rub him down until his coat shines before settling him into his stall with some feed and his supplements. The entire time I perform my tasks, I’m remembering that night with such acuity that by the time I’m done putting his tack away, my body is quivering in need.

Scowling, I clench my thighs trying to alleviate the ache, getting more and more pissed off at Alex the entire time. He did this to me. I was fine. I met my own needs and didn’t need anything from anyone. Now, I can’t come unless it’s to images in my head of that night with Alex. He’s ruined my ability to need nothing from anyone.

Flipping the lights, I burst through the door cursing under my breath and crash into a hard, hot body. Glancing up, I step back into the now closed door of the barn. “Alex.”

Alex’s hazel eyes take in my disheveled appearance. My hair is wild from running patterns with Ollie, my skin covered in a light layer of sweat and dust. When his eyes fall on the slight sliver of skin showing between my jeans and tank top, his eyes shoot back to mine where they bore into my soul. He steps back a foot, his eyes moving between mine and the barn door as he tries to think of something to say. “I didn’t know you were in the barn.”

“I was working Ollie. We have a show in May.” Tucking my hands in my back pockets, I lean back, propping one foot against the wall, trying to ignore the way my body has lit up from the inside. I’ve spent the last ninety minutes replaying that one night, and now the object of my desire is standing here looking at me with false indifference. Despite his best efforts, I know he’s still attracted to me, because if he wasn’t, he wouldn’t be avoiding me all of the damn time.

When he starts to turn without another word, I shove off the wall, closing the distance between us.

Enough is enough.

I fist my hand in his shirt when he moves to walk away again, and step into him, tilting my head up so he can’t avoid looking at me. “You’ve been avoiding me.”

“No . . .” He tries to look away, but I raise my other hand and hold it against the back of his head.

“Don’t lie to me, Alex. We used to spend time together, and now you don’t remain in a room with me more than the necessary amount of time to be considered polite. Don’t even get me started on the fact you haven’t been alone with me since the engagement party.

“What I don’t get is that you’re the one who initiated that night. You’re the one who made the first move, not me. I haven’t been some clingy chick you picked up in a bar, so what gives?” Holding him in place, I glare up at him, locking his gaze in mine.

He sighs and runs a hand down his face before looking at my hand still grasping his shirt. “I’ve been a dick for no reason, haven’t I?”

“Well, I wasn’t going to use those exact words, but yeah.” Grinning, I drop my hand when he chuckles softly.

“In the heat of the moment, all I could think about was you and how much I wanted to feel you. Afterwards, all I could think about was everyone else and what they would do if they found out. I don’t want a relationship and the pressure would be there, I know how Emma thinks.” His smirk drops into a frown as I gape at him.

“That is the lamest thing I’ve ever heard. Your hot factor just dropped by two points.” Crossing my arms over my chest, I narrow my eyes. His Adam’s apple bobs as he swallows, but there is a slight smirk he’s fighting at my comment. Cocking my hip out, I scowl. “Let’s go through these one at a time. First off, no one knows what happened and there is no reason for them to know. Second, you’re assuming I want a relationship; that’s something I haven’t had the desire for in a long time. Been there, done that, and I have the emotional scarring as a souvenir.”

Alex has made me wonder, hope even, but for the most part I’m still leery of entering a relationship, especially with someone as skittish as Alex, so I don’t feel like I’m lying.

“My hot factor?” Alex grins at me, cocking his head to the side in a way that is too cute. He’s trying to distract me, but it won’t work.

“Seriously? That’s what you took from that?” Shaking my head, I step toward him and place my hand on his chest, pressing my body into his. For a moment, all I can think about is the hard muscle beneath my hand and remembering the way it looked when he pounded into me.

Grinding my teeth, I focus back on the man before me. “All I want is someone I trust to have hot sex with. Get your head out of your ass and think about it. If that’s not what you want, fine, but we’re friends Alex, and it hurts my feelings that it’s so easy for you to forget that.”

Lifting onto my toes, I press a chaste kiss to his lips, drawing away before he can react. Brushing past him, I saunter to my house.

I’m not a pushover, and I’m not going to let him get away with this shitty behavior any more.

4.5 hot and nerdy stars 🤓🤓🤓🤓.5

WOW this was a really fun and smexy read…. I just knew from the very first words in the acknowledgment of this book this was going to be an author I was going to really enjoy…. and I was right… fabulous characters, interesting plot, and a touch of humor….. and oh yes the hot romance🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 my lovely friends who have an aversion to romance, probably not the book for you, but everybody else pick this up!

Liam is the sensitive smart brother of a family of so many brothers that I lost count of them…. Liam is a widowed father of an adorable girl named Reagan…. he has closed himself off to love, he does not want to hurt like that ever again, and he does not want to betray the love of his life….. Felicity along with being Ragan’s caretaker is also a friend of the family and was the best friend of Liam‘s deceased wife…… Felicity was terribly likable, and the girl had the patience of a saint….. liam’s grief broke my heart, I did want to reach through the pages and tell him it was OK he could MoveOn I’m sure his wife would want him to do that….. and oh yes I forgot to mention that both Liam and felicity are top notch hackers….

There was not just romance in this book there was suspense, mystery, and intrigue… Who was out to get Felicity? And when that was figured out who is going to outsmart who? I really found a lot of the techy parts of this book really interested… even though I couldn’t tell you if it could actually happen or not, it sure was fun to read about……

So will Liam and Felicity live happily ever after? You’ll need to read this book to find out! And even though this is the second book in the Brothers Keeper series it definitely worked as a standalone…. however now I am so interested in all these other brothers I will want to read all their books as well!….😍

*** thank you so much to the author for a copy of this book ***

PS: letters that Cassidy wrote to her daughter Reagan to help her through all the tough times in her life, were so special, I couldn’t not mention those in this review💔💞

Happy Reading Berit 💛

Arianna had relaxed quite a bit during our conversation. Her demeanor was casual as she played with the strap of her shoe. Her laugh came naturally. It was easy to pretend that we were still together as we sat there talking. Our arms were even touching. It sent a jolt of electricity down my spine to feel my skin against hers again. It felt like we were finally shifting, finally moving in the right direction. It was everything I’d hoped tonight would be.

After a brief pause in talking about our summer plans, Arianna pursed her lips and said, “Why have we never been friends before now? We’re in the same grade, and we must have had classes together before…but I don’t recall ever seeing you before a couple of months ago.”

I sighed, not sure how to answer that. “I don’t know… We must have just kept missing each other. But I’m so glad that’s not the case anymore. You…there’s just something about you. You’re kind, warm, accepting. You see past people’s faults, to the person they are underneath. You’re patient, forgiving, and open to things that are a little…different. But you don’t take crap from anyone either, and you stand up for what you believe in. You’re just…amazing.”

Her expression was blank. “You saw all that, sitting across the room from me?”

I peeked up at her with a small smile that I couldn’t hide. “I see you, Arianna. I see the real you.” Straightening, I met her eye and held her gaze. “And I really like what I see.”

Arianna held her breath as we stared at each other. Her heart rate spiked, and I momentarily felt bad that I could hear it. She’d probably be embarrassed if she knew I could. But then her eyes drifted to my lips, and I really didn’t care that I had a slight advantage. All I cared about was whether she wanted me to kiss her right now. Was she ready to see me as more?

I leaned in, tentative and unsure. Maybe I was misinterpreting this. Maybe, because I wanted it so badly, I was seeing something that wasn’t there. My heart was thumping in my chest so loudly, Nika probably thought I was doing something much more strenuous than just sitting on a bed, staring at Arianna, and waiting for our second first kiss to happen.

Amazed and surprised by the response to the release of Thoughtless in 2009, more stories were quick to follow. Stephens has been writing nonstop ever since.

In addition to writing, Stephens enjoys spending lazy afternoons in the sun reading fabulous novels, loading up her iPod with writer’s block reducing music, heading out the movies and spending quality time with her friends and family. 4 paranormal stars 🧛🏻‍♂️🧛🏻‍♂️🧛🏻‍♂️🧛🏻‍♂️

OK going to start this book review out with a disclaimer… I am an over eager baby book blogger who jumped at the chance to be part of a blog tour without really paying attention to the book…..What I did not know was this book is the sixth book in the series… and this book is about vampires… I think I saw the word family and thought I’d love it, I just didn’t realize the family was of the paranormal variety….. nothing against vampire books, believe me I’ve read my fair share, it just has been a while and it was not what I was expecting, but that is on me! The problem I had with starting on the sixth book is I really didn’t necessarily understand the rules of being a vampire in this world, they seem to vary greatly from book to book, and I really had no background when it came to that….. I also didn’t know the background of the family dynamics and love relationships…. but in spite of all of this I really did enjoy this book, and that is because these characters were very wonderful…..

Julian has lost the bond with his twin sister and the love of his life….. Arianna has had her memory wiped clean she does not remember her boyfriend Julian or her best friend Mika…. so Arianna and I had a lot in common, we had no backstory, so she was probably my favorite character….. Mika’s relationship with Hunter her boyfriend/sire was quite interesting…. especially when daddy was quite overprotective….

There is quite a bit of action and suspense in this book that I didn’t always completely understand, but still found enjoyable…. I believe the moral to this review is don’t start a series on book 6! Will I pick this series up and start on the first book? Probably not because I know the ending…. and it is such a super sweet ending💗

*** thank you so much to the author and Ink Slinger PR for a copy of this book ***

Enjoy the Sugar,

🌟🌟🌟🌟 Laugh Out Loud stars!

You thought their story was over… but a love like theirs has no end.

Fate doesn’t own Jake McKallister. At least, that’s what he tells himself. Life is better than ever. He’s at the top of his game, performing to sold-out crowds the world over. He has his health and a solid, fun-loving family to keep him grounded.

And he got the girl – the beautiful, quirky girl he’s just made his wife.

Yes, life is good. If only fate would stop screaming in his ear.

Lucky is the best word for Casey McKallister. She has an awesome support system, a nerd’s dream job at a prestigious accounting firm, and best of all, she’s married to the hottest rock star to ever roam the earth.

Yes, life is perfect… until it all comes crashing down around her.

They say love conquers all. That’s what Jake and Casey are counting on.

Gah, i love this series so bad!!

Jake and Casey are just such a wonderful couple to read about.
As usual this book is laugh out loud at points and close to tears in others.

I was so glad that Jake managed to get his Happy Ever After as what he went through when he was young was so sad.

Casey was just as fun as ever, and i want to be part of the family, her mother talking to Luke about his sexual habits is hilarious.

I would suggest that you read all of the books in the series before getting to this one to truly appreciate the awesomeness of this series.

**ARC received for an honest review.

5 Royal Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka His Royal Hotness, is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant; hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you.

Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn’t bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face.

Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.

Dating a prince isn’t what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be.

There’s a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. While they’ve traded in horse drawn carriages for Rolls Royces, and haven’t chopped anyone’s head off lately, the royals are far from accepting of this commoner.

But to Olivia, Nicholas is worth it.

Nicholas grew up with the whole world watching, and now Marriage Watch is in full force. In the end, Nicholas has to decide who he is and, more importantly, who he wants to be: a King… or the man who gets to love Olivia forever.

And they all live happily ever after…. or do they?

Olivia finds herself in her own real life fairy tale…. once Upon a Time… prince Nicholas walks in the door of her coffee shop….. their meeting starts off with her slamming a pie in his face… after he makes an inappropriate offer…. but he is a prince, so of course he is charming…. and charms her into going on a date with him….

what starts off as a fling… grows into so much more…. but there are problems… Prince Nicholas is set to be married in five months… and definitely not to New Yorker Olivia… a simple commoner… and as much as Olivia likes being treated as a princess 👑 there is a lot of responsibility that goes along with dating a royal….is she up for it?

Loved the characters in this book… both the primary and all the secondary characters…. they really added so much to this book… Emma Chase is probably one of the best at writing the male Point of view…. looking forward to the next book in the series…💕

🎧🎧🎧 The audiobook narration was done by Andi Arndt and Shane East both did a wonderful job! But every book is a bit better when it is narrated by the amazing Andi Arndt 😍

“Julian, do you…?” My heart sped up as I considered just what she might be about to ask me. Do I like you? Yes. Do I want to be with you? Yes. Would I do anything for you? Yes.

Her mouth snapped shut and her lips compressed into a tight smile. Clearly, she wasn’t ready to open that door yet, and a huge part of me was relieved that she wasn’t. Just her asking the question would forever alter what we were, and while I wanted out of this limbo, I wasn’t positive she’d be happy to hear that I had feelings for her—or that she’d reciprocate them. We weren’t there yet.

“Will you be at my party?” I asked, hoping I could successfully change the subject.

Relief lightened her face. “Ummm yeah, I was thinking about going. It should be fun.”

“Great,” I told her, keeping my smile contained to a small grin. Great? More like freaking amazing, but I didn’t want to scare her off by saying that.

As silence fell between us, we continued walking through the cemetery to her house. When we were in her back yard, I finally said, “I really hope you come to the party. Maybe we’ll get a chance to talk…so we can, you know, get to know each other better, since we…haven’t known each other long.” Sadness crept over me as I traipsed across her lawn. We’ve known each other for years, you just don’t remember.

A strange, contemplative look crossed her face. “Yeah…although sometimes, it seems like I’ve known you longer than I actually have.”

Shock made me stand still. Arianna stopped with me, and she again looked embarrassed. “What do you mean?” I asked. Did she remember me?

Arianna frowned, and her brows furrowed in an adorable way. “Nothing, it’s just…a feeling, I guess.” She looked around her yard before continuing. “I know this is going to make me sound crazy, but I have these…blanks in my memory, these holes, and no matter how hard I try, I can’t remember what happened to me in those gaps. And when I try to fill the hole with something plausible, nothing feels right—like I’m trying to jam a square through a circle. But when I’m around you…it feels like, somehow you fit in those gaps…like…you’re the circle.” Her cheeks filling with color, she quickly stammered, “I don’t know why I feel that way, and I don’t know what it means, and like I said, it’s just a gut feeling I get sometimes, and it really freaks me out, and I can’t believe I told you about it…and now you think I’m nuts, don’t you?”

Driven by K. Bromberg

🌟🌟🌟.5 Fast Car stars

Rylee Thomas is used to being in control. But she’s about to meet the one man
that just might make her enjoy losing it…

I am the exception to the rule.

In a world full of willing women, I’m a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He’s the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track.

Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline.

I can’t give him what he wants and he can’t give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away?

Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

Ok i do love an alpha male douche bag, i can’t help it, and Coulton Donovan was one on wheels….literally!

He is a famous Racing driver, and obviously handsome!

With enough sexual tension to make you combust (See what i did there?)

Rylee and Coulton do have a little bit of a 50 shades vibe to them (she is clumsy and he is very dominant) but that is where the similarities end.

I’m not sure, but i think i can see where the next few books are heading, maybe something with the little boy but i’m not sure.

This looks like this was K. Bromberg’s first book I will allow her a BIG pass because her other books are amazing and 5 star all the way make sure to check out her other ones and see the difference in the writing.
