Then–In charge of her little sister at the beach, Claire allowed Eleanor to walk to the shop alone to buy an ice cream. Placing a coin into her hand, Claire told her to be quick, knowing how much she wanted the freedom. Eleanor never came back.

Now–The time has finally come to sell the family farm and Claire is organising a reunion of her dearest friends, the same friends who were present the day her sister went missing.

When another girl disappears, long-buried secrets begin to surface. One of the group hides the darkest secret of them all…

WOW! Don’t you love it when a book is even better than you expected it to be? This is my first book by, Samantha Hayes…. and I can guarantee it will not be my last!

Claire’s father has Alzheimer’s….. So to help boost her fathers spirits while coping with this disease and needing to sell his property Claire decides to have a reunion of sorts…. The beginning of this book introduces us to all the characters who will be coming to the “reunion“…. these are also the same people that were around when Lenny…. Claire’s younger sister went missing 20 years ago….

The beginning of this book is a definite slow burn…. The story is told from multiple points of view, I think I counted at least six…. I love this format with the multiple points of view….. however the very small problem I had with this book was it was difficult to really connect with any of the characters, because the viewpoint switched rather quickly…. but inspite of this I enjoyed this book immensely, because it was so compelling…. absolutely a page turner!

After another girl goes missing during the reunion, it becomes clear that somebody has been hiding something….. the similarities are too overwhelmingn…. I must have changed my mind at least 10 times, as to who the culprit was…. as soon as I thought I had it figured out something would happen and I’d change my mind… or I’d think it was way too obvious that it was the person I thought it was…. twists and turns and false leads made this a wonderful psychological thriller….and that ending….. did not see that coming!

Absolutely recommend to all my psychological thriller loving friends!
