Everything, Everything

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

I liked everything. everything. absolutely everything about this book…..

Madeline has SCID… A disease that keeps her from living in the real world….. she has not left her house for 17 years….. She only has contact with her mother, her nurse, and tutors via Skype…. She was pretty content with this… she had a strong relationship with both her mother and her amazing nurse Carla…..

Then this all changed when she sees the boy next-door move in…. The relationship between them developed very adorably….. through various methods, including IM and pantomime…

There were some things I really didn’t understand in the beginning…. that made complete sense at the end… when you get the big twist….

This was just all in all a fantastic book…. about a girl that wants to live not just be alive! Sure would like a follow up story to this….

Live life to the fullest,

We are Berit and Vicci... two girls from different parts of the world who were brought together by Goodreads and a love of all things books 💕📚

  1. I liked this book a lot especially the writing style. Amazing review! 🙂 However I actually think Nicola’s other book, The Sun is Also a Star, was even better! Her second book was so fantastic, the characters were so well developed and the plot as well. Have you read her other book? I have a review of both books if you would like to check them out!
