Wait With Me

Wait With Me by Amy Daws

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Complimentary Coffee Stars

Synopsis

When romance novelist Kate Smith suddenly gets writer’s block as she’s beginning the final installment of her international bestselling erotic Bed ‘n Breakfast series, she’ll do pretty much anything to get her groove back.

Like sneak into a Tire Depot waiting room because her words flow there just like complimentary coffee-smooth, sweet, and scorchingly hot.

She manages to fly under the radar until the rugged and charming mechanic, Miles Hudson, notices the quirky redhead slinking in and out of the employees only entrance.

But she’s way too intriguing to blow the whistle on.

Doing a test-drive of her new book idea sounds like a much better option.

Review

Kate Smith (aka Mercedes Lee Loveletter is an Erotic Romance writer and unfortunately has got a touch of writers block, well I say a touch, but nothing has popped into her head for ages and she needs to get the final installment with her International best selling Bed & Beakfast series out on the shelves ASAP.

She finds her Nirvana one day when she pops into the Tire Depot to get some work done on her car.

While she is in the Customer waiting room sipping on the complimentary coffee and munching on the freshly baked cookies, she manages to get thousands of words down on a page!

After borrowing friends, and families cars to take back to the Tire Depot, Kate finds her writing mojo again….the thing is she runs out of cars to take in!

What’s a girl to do, apart from sneak into the employees entrance and pretend to be waiting!

As ninja like as Kate thinks she is, she isn’t! And it doesn’t take long for her to be spotted by Miles, an employee at the Depot.

Miles…..sigh Miles……😍 Book boyfriend alert!!

Miles has a little bit of baggage from a failed relationship and isn’t looking for anything serious.

Kate has recently split from her Douchecanoe of an ex who is currently still residing at the house in the basement refusing to leave, hence the writers block and the bad Joojoo.

After some hilarious near misses at the Tire Depot ( The pizza delivery had me howling with laughter) Miles and “Mercedes” start a friends with benefits relationship, all for book research obviously!

The witty one-liners and even the secondary characters in this book were just perfect, I loved every second of listening to this book, thank you Amy 😘

🎧🎧 Narration what can I say about the narration?

Well let’s just say it was hot, I mean steaming hot!!

You have the gorgeous honey-like tones of Teddy Hamilton (who can come and whisper in my ear ANY day of the week!) mixed with the sexy gorgeous voice of Erin Mallon, what’s not to love?

If I’ve said it once I will say it again….

My Sweet Friend

My Sweet Friend

A stand-alone novella from the author of Manipulated Lives

A perfect friend … or a perfect impostor?

Alexa is an energetic and charismatic professional and the new member of a Parisian PR company where she quickly befriends her colleagues Rosie and Jack. She brings a much-needed breath of fresh air into the office and ambitiously throws herself into her new job and friendships.

But is Alexa all she claims to be?

As her life intertwines with Rosie and Jack’s, they must all decide what separates truth from fiction. Will the stories that unfold unite or divide them? Can first impressions ever be trusted?

In this original novella, H.A. Leuschel evokes the powerful hold of appearances and what a person is prepared to do to keep up the facade. If you like thought-provoking and compelling reads with intriguing characters, My Sweet Friend is for you.

4.5 Manipulative Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5

WOW! This was a fabulous little read… my favorite type of read filled with unreliable narrators…. even better you have no idea from the start who is more unreliable… Who is manipulating who and who is lying! Cannot believe so much happened in only 92 Pages….Miss Leuschel this would make a brilliant full length book, just saying….

Not going to say anything about the plot, do not want to ruin this for anybody… so I am going to talk about the brilliant characterization of Alexa and Rosie…. you really got a sense of who these two women were and you felt a little bit of sympathy and contempt for both…. I really enjoy unlikable and unsympathetic characters, I like to figure out their psychology…. but there is a fine line when it comes to writing unlikable characters, and it was done perfectly in this book…. and as the saying goes, with friends like this who needs enemies?

Strongly recommend when you are in the mood for a quick psychological thriller with brilliant characters…

*** thank you so much to the author and Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for my copy of this lovely book ***

Have a marvelous week! Berit💛
