Happy Tuesday book lovers! Thrilled to be part of the blog tour for this unusual compelling read! Many thanks to Rachel for my invitation and to Jenny Morton Potts for this clever book💜

JustJust

How far would you go to save a life?

On golden Mediterranean sands, maverick doctor Scott Langbrook falls recklessly in love with his team leader, Fiyori Maziq. If only that was the extent of his falling, but Scott descends into the hellish clutches of someone much more sinister.

‘Just’ is a story of love and loss, of terror and triumph. Set in idyllic Cambridge and on the shores of the Med and Cornwall, our characters fight for their very lives on land and at sea.

An unforgettable novel which goes to the heart of our catastrophic times, and seeks salvation.

My Thoughts

4 Unique Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Well! This book has almost rendered me speechless, and that is almost impossible to do, LOL this is such a difficult book to describe and therefore such a difficult book to review… it touched on so many relevant yet disturbing topics including human trafficking, terrorism, betrayal, letting go of love, blackmail, envy, and even more! The story was real, raw, and gritty and held my attention from start to finish…

I must admit I was really confused in the beginning…. there are a lot of characters to keep track of and they are all over the world from Libya to England… but this is a book I’m glad I stuck with because the ending was quite uniqueLy amazing… now I need to go read something light and fluffy, this book was almost a little too real for me! And the characters while very real and relatable weren’t always terribly likable… I absolutely do recommend this very thought-provoking book, it will leave you questioning quite a few things!

The-Cottage-on-Sunshine-Beach-Kindle
The Cottage on Sunshine Beach by Holly Martin
The stunning new summer story from the bestselling author of Summer at Buttercup Beach. Step into the delightful seaside village of Sandcastle Bay, where you’ll discover golden sand, welcoming smiles and an unforgettable romance…

Melody Rosewood loves her new home in idyllic Sandcastle Bay. The beautiful little cottage on the edge of Sunshine Beach, with its bright yellow door and view of the sea has captured her heart. And she loves being close by to her family and best friend Tori Graham.

Life by the sea is pretty much perfect, there’s just one thing missing…

Gorgeous Jamie Jackson, with his cheeky grin and adorable puppy, works as a sculptor opposite Melody’s jewellery shop. From the moment he and Melody meet sparks fly. But despite their instant attraction, a past heartache is holding Jamie back.

As Melody starts to make a life for herself in the close-knit, quirky seaside community, she realises Jamie could be the one for her. But as the two of them take a chance on romance, it’s one dating disaster after another. Are they destined to always be just good friends?

Or will Melody finally find her happily-ever-after in Sandcastle Bay?

A perfect, feel-good summer read that will make you want to escape to the beach for a romantic day in the sun. If you enjoy reading Sarah Morgan, Jenny Oliver and Lucy Diamond this book is for you.

My Thoughts

4.5 Bright Sunshiny Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5

Bump this up half a star because this book still is making me smile 😀 this book has my favorite word in the title SUNSHINE and to make it even better it also has beach and cottage… how could I possibly go wrong? Additionally it is written by the brilliant Holly Martin! And to top it all off it is set in beautiful and charming Seashell Cove… I am SO visiting there and when I do I am hoping I meet each and every character in this delightful book….

This is the second book in the series, however you could read it as a standalone… it was so much fun to revisit these quirky characters and this time around we got Melody and Jamie’s story… but no worries we got a fair dose of Aiden and Tori along with Leo and Isla…. and I cannot forget adorable Elliot! I would so love to go to a barbecue with all of these fabulous characters and watch one of Elliotts famous magnificent magic shows…. well now I think I’ve invited myself to Seashell Cove twice… probably three times i’m sure I did so in my review of the first book as well….

Jamie and Melody’s romance got off to a bit of a rocky start… that is unless you think poisoning your date on the first date is a good thing? And that wasn’t the only date disaster, I have to say I did get some good laughs out of these tragic dates! Fortunately these two have a sense of humor… and as the romance progressed I found it very sweet with a bit of sizzle…. isn’t always easy to navigate a new relationship in a small town where everybody knows everything about everybody….

Just loved so many things about this book! loved Melody’s jewelry… loved Jamie’s unusual sculptures… and there is a scene in this book involving fairy lights and a cave that is just hilariously amazing! A lovely book full of romance and charm… that will leave you with a smile on your face and a warm feeling in your heart😍

Absolutely recommend to people who love a good romantic comedy, quirky characters, and sunshine!🌞

The Flowerpot Witch by Wendy Steele @WendyWooauthor @rararesources #BookReview #BlogTour

Thrilled to be part of the blog tour for this paranormal book with a twist… many thanks to Rachel for the invitation and to Wendy Steele for this most magical book!✨✨

The Flowerpot Witch

The Flowerpot Witch (A Wendy Woo Witch Lit Novel Book 3)

Lizzie Martin has chosen pottery to be her new career…

But the teacher from hell threatens to thwart her ambitions before she starts.

She has support from her best friend Louise and Evan, another pottery tutor, but Rowan, her fifteen year old daughter is restless, Josh, her ex-husband is colluding with her aunt and though her mother is alive, access to her is forbidden. When The Morrigan appears in her sacred circle, Lizzie knows she has a battle on her hands.

There is hope though.

Stardust the chicken brings a new creature into Lizzie’s life and a long awaited meeting with her Aunt Matilda brings Lizzie’s past into perspective.

Lizzie’s magic ventures beyond The Sanctuary, into the Welsh landscape and the realms of the fae.

My Thoughts

This was a compelling read full of magic and heart… I must admit I was expecting something much more lighthearted based on the cover, but after I got over that I found this book quite intriguing… this book is also the third in this Witchlit series… I did not read the first two books in the series and I do feel as though I missed out on a little bit, and I spent quite a bit of the first part of this book trying to figure out exactly who was who and what was going on…. so my recommendation is to start at book one…

Lizzie was an outstanding character, I really loved her… she was such a generous giving person with a heart of gold… she would do anything to help out those she loved and even those she didn’t love all that much as well…. I also was delighted that she had such an amazing and supportive BFF in Louise, always love those strong female relationships in Books! Also liked the relationship between Lizzie and her daughter, it was so real and relatable, especially if you have ever had a teenage daughter… also completely related to Lizzy’s relationship with her ex, LOL!

There are all kinds of complicated issues going on between Lizzie and her family and the family dynamics… sometimes I had more questions than answers, but I think in the end I had everything figured out, and it left me wanting more! If I have time I’d love to go back and read the first two books in this series, just so I get a better handle on what exactly is going on… I truly found this book most interesting and magical!

Recommend for fans of the paranormal with a bit of a twist, this is unlike any book you have read before, guaranteed!

The Invitation by Keris Stainton @Keris @bookouture #BookReview #BlogBlitz

Happy Monday All! Thrilled to be part of the blog blitz for this laugh out loud romcom! Many thanks to Noelle for my iNVITATION and two Keris Stainton for her fun book!😂🤣😂

The-Invitation-Kindle

Description:

When Piper James unexpectedly gets a message from her insanely hot teenage crush Rob Kingsford, inviting her to their school reunion, her heart flips. She hasn’t seen Rob in eight years – and he’s always been the one who got away.

Throw in some old friends (and frenemies), a sister on the edge of a meltdown and a few too many cosmos and you have all the ingredients for a real night to remember… Will Piper and Rob finally get together, the second time around?

A hilarious and uplifting story about conquering your demons and being true to who you are – perfect for fans of Mhairi McFarlane, Colleen Coleman and Joanna Bolouri.

My Thoughts

4 Side Splitting Stars😂 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This book at its heart was so fun and filled with so many laugh out loud moments… I absolutely love romantic comedies… and strong sassy female characters….. and this book fit the bill for both! This was my first book from Keris Stainton, but I can guarantee it will not be my last! Adding her to my ever-growing list of must read authors…

Piper was a phenomenal character… I loved her spirit, her sass, her strength, and her positivity…. I love how she had come to terms with her weight issues and loved herself just the way she was… also loved the friendship she had with her amazing guy friend Matt…

Piper has a second chance at love in this book… A Facebook friend request from a high school crush, leads to her going home and facing her demons, and perhaps finding true love…. rob was a really good guy, but…. can Piper find her way past the doubts and the misunderstandings and the past?

Perhaps this is naïve of me or it is my desire to always see the good in everybody… but I do find it most troubling that people would actually comment about somebody’s wait on a picture on social media??? OK I think I’m probably being very unrealistic, but why would anybody ever do this? Also I would hope after you’ve been out of high school for a decade you’d be over thinking you were better than anybody, perhaps this is a small town issue? This book brought up these issues and they really quite frankly bothered me… I so want to see the good in people, but then people do really mean things? Please do not rain on my little happy bubble!

Absolutely recommend to fans of a fun romantic comedy full of sassy characters and heart💕

The Lost for Words Bookshop by Stephanie Butland @under_blue_sky @StMartinsPress #BookReview #BookLove

Hello bibliophiles! Delighted to share my review for this wonderful book filled with books and love! 💕📚

The Lost For Words Bookshop

The Lost for Words Bookshop by Stephanie Butland

4 Bibliophile Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Synopsis

Loveday Cardew prefers books to people. If you look carefully, you might glimpse the first lines of the novels she loves most tattooed on her skin. But there are some things Loveday will never, ever show you. Into her hiding place – the bookstore where she works – come a poet, a lover, and three suspicious deliveries. Someone has found out about her mysterious past. Will Loveday survive her own heartbreaking secrets?

My Thoughts

4 Bibliophile Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was a lovely quirky book filled with books and charm… this was a very uplifting read that put a smile on my face… and even though the characters in this book did not have the most ideal of lives at all times… they all had a love for books and eventually found love for themselves and others…

Loveday is a lovely quirky character… who truly underestimates herself and those around her…. my heart broke for her so many times, she really had a rough childhood and the result of that was tremendous distrust…. she was so fortunate to have two wonderful men enter her life… Archie her boss… and Nathan her love interest…. both these gentlemen were truly genuine good guys…. and I loved the development of her relationships with both of them…

This book will appeal to all book lovers! From the setting in the delightful second hand book shop… to the book quotes tattooed on Loveday… to all the many book references…. I also have to say I appreciate the fact that not every book reference in this book was made to a classic… not every book enthusiast loves the classics… including myself!

Absolutely recommend for a pleasant summer read to anyone who is a fan of quirky characters, books, or a good story…

*** Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press for my copy of this book ***

The Upside of Falling by Meghan Quinn @AuthorMegQuinn @InkSlingerPR #BookReview #BlogTour

Happy Sunday! Thrilled to be part of the blog tour for this beautiful romance💕

Tucked away at the base of the Rocky Mountains lived a little boy with one singular dream: leave this broken and battered home and become someone.

Be somebody’s hero.

That boy was me—Colby Brooks. Except I’m not that same little boy anymore.

My dreams might still be the same, but my reality isn’t.

I’m smarter. Stronger. A man.

And I learned a long damn time ago, the only way to achieve my dreams was to avoid distractions—at any cost.

Focus. Resolve. Determination.

But all it took was one single night. One night and my entire life…changed.

One night had me colliding head first with the biggest distraction of my life; Rory Oaks.

Smart. Charming. Beautiful.

Rory changed everything.

Quickly, my one-track mind started to bend.

Each kiss faded decade-long dreams.

And with one single incident, I fly off course.

My Thoughts

5 High Flying Stars🛩 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Meghan Quinn… Wow what a book! And that ending? What a cliffhanger, cannot wait for the next book in this duology… going to be clever and compare this book to a plane trip… I was all buckled up and ready to go and was thrilled there was a smooth take off… there was some turbulence on the flight, but then it smoothed out, and then some more turbulence…. The landing was pretty darn rocky and then when I got off the plane??? I was NOT where I thought I would be, how in the world did I get here? And what am I gonna do now that I am? Miss Quinn you have some explaining to do!

In this book we meet Colby and Rory… Colby’s dream is to be a fighter pilot and he is almost there about to graduate from the Air Force Academy… Colby had a tough childhood and has done nothing but kept his eye on the prize for the past several years…. when he meets Rory at a party he is very standoffish almost bordering being rude…. Rory is a sweet, beautiful, confident, and determined girl…. when these two finally get together things really sizzle! The problem… Colby’s dreams will take him out of Colorado Springs and Rory has obligations to her family that tie her there…

Will Colby and Rory find their HEA? Will they fly off into the sunset or make a crash landing??? You need to read this to find out! And you really do need to read it!

Absolutely recommend to fans of beautiful emotional Romances filled with love and tough decisions💕

MQTheUpsideofFallingBookCover55x85_MEDIUM.jpg

Head turned down, pushing the sleeves of his white Henley up his arms, he swaggers toward me. His jeans hang low on his hips, held up by the same brown belt he wore the other night. His narrow waist directs my eyes to the center of his jeans, and I can’t help wonder what might be behind the crotch of his pants.

And then there is his chest. Barrel like, broad and prominent. His thick biceps showcase his strength, and the fabric of his shirt stretches over his shoulders and forearms. Having spent a lot of time at the gym, I’ve seen every body type, but Colby’s is different. He’s strong, built, but not like a body builder. His body seems to suggest the only kind of weight he’s been lifting is his own body, pushup after pushup. I can’t imagine there being barbells in his workouts, but I can imagine logs, cadets, and heavy machinery. He has working muscles, the kind you earn from hard, dedicated work on the field. In a word? Impressive.

Walking up to Stryder, he grips his friend’s shoulder and says something into his ear. A smirk crosses Stryder’s face before he moves over to our side of the bowling alley and takes Colby’s place.

Is he leaving? Already?

Might as well at this point. It’s not like he’s going to talk to me, not after my pathetic attempt at a bet. I should have known I was going to hang out in the gutter all night. It’s where I usually am when I’m bowling. I blame the ball. The thing has a vendetta against me.

Sighing, I prop my chin in my hand and watch Stryder expertly toss his ball down the lane, getting a strike . . . once again. And just like every other strike, he pumps his arm up in the air and celebrates. We get it, you’re good, no need to—

“Hey.”

That voice . . .

Stunned, eyes wide, not able to move, not wanting to scare him away, I keep my eyes trained forward, soaking in that beautifully deep voice of his for a brief moment before saying, “Hey.”

“Can I sit here?”

Still keeping my eyes trained forward, I say, “Sure.”

My body tingles with awareness of how close he is to me, that fresh laundry scent invading my senses, prickling the little hairs on my arm. My body leans toward his, wanting a little more, searching for anything else he might give me. I don’t know why he’s choosing to engage me in conversation, but I’m sure as hell not moving while he does.

“Sorry about tonight,” he says and he actually sounds sincere.

“Why are you sorry?” I mumble.

Reaching around, he takes my cheek in his hand. The callouses on his palm rubbing against my skin is a welcome sensation. As I’m turned toward him, I steady my breathing. I’m having a hard time slowing my heart rate because of his close proximity, and the unexpected touch shooting a wave of heat through my veins.

“I’m sorry you didn’t get to ask me any questions. I didn’t think you were going to suck that bad.” A playful smile tugs at his lips, and my heart sinks to the floor. Oh God, he’s so gorgeous, especially when he smiles.

Matching his smirk, I say, “I didn’t think I was going to suck that bad either.”

“I feel bad.”

“You should.” That garners a laugh, deep and throaty, the sound cloaking me like a shield, protecting me from the outside world, bringing me into a little bubble where we are the only two that exist.

“Ask me a question.”

Shocked, I swallow hard and say, “Really?”

He nods and holds up his fingers. “You get three.”

“Oh, three? Wow, I feel like you just gave me the key to your soul.”

Rolling his eyes, he adjusts his stance on the barstool and leans back, giving us some space, our knees still knocking into each other. “Easy killer; it’s just three questions.”

“Yeah, three questions I didn’t have before.” Tapping my chin, I try to think of good questions, but now that I have him willing and waiting, nothing comes to mind. I wasn’t prepared for this, he caught me off-guard, and now I feel I can’t be strategic about my probing. “Hmm . . . what do you like to do on the weekends?”

“Jump,” he answers.

Searching his eyes, lips quirked, I say, “Uh, you’re going to have to be more specific than that. What kind of jumping are we talking here? Like jump roping? Because that seems kind of weird to do on the weekends, and if you tell me you’re in some kind of jump-roping club at the academy, I’m not going to believe you.”

His lips curve up as he scratches the side of his jaw. “Jump out of airplanes.”

Oh.

Oh.

That’s . . .

Uh, that’s really hot.

“So you just casually jump out of airplanes?”

“I’m part of the Wings of Blue, the academy’s parachute team. We jump every day, at least two to three times a day after class and before dinner, depending on wind and ceiling limits. On the weekends, some of the guys, including Stryder and me, go to Springs East Airport and do civilian jumps. The more jumps we get in, the higher the chance we’ll be considered for big demonstrations, like parachuting into football games and major sporting events for the Rockies and Broncos.” Ummmm. Did anyone else just hear how many words he gifted me? And seriously? Does the man have no clue how incredibly sexy he is when he talks about something he loves? The expression on his face . . .

“Wow, that’s . . . that’s really hot.” I chuckle. “Sorry, I don’t mean to fangirl over your parachuting, but I guess I wasn’t expecting that answer. You just jump out of planes?”

He slowly nods. “Every day.”

“Anything to get you up in the clouds, huh?”

“Yeah,” he answers shyly, rubbing his jaw. “Okay, next question.”

THE DOWNSIDE OF LOVE – July 5th

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! Today I am excited to be part of the blog tour for this quirky psychological thriller… many thanks to Rachel for the invitation and to Maisie Porter for her Page turning book!💜

No Reception

No Reception

For hyper-successful wedding photographer and blogger, Zody Lee Swabler, anonymous death threats come with the territory. When warned by email not to continue booking jobs, she responds by accepting the next request that comes in.

When a strangely eager woman approaches her about the emails, she accepts the woman’s invitation to visit her home. So begins Helena Hoath’s elaborate plan to take over the life and profession of the photographer she wishes she could be.

And when Zody unleashes her own revenge scheme, she discovers that the unhinged woman may still have the wit to turn a successful photographer’s own talents against her.

Zody and Helena’s lives begin to intertwine in ways that neither could have foreseen…

My Thoughts

4 Photographers Gone Mad Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Who knew the life of a photographer was so crazy? Not to mention the photographers themselves! This was a short quirky thrrill of a read…

Told from multiple points of view…Zody A successful photographer with a dream life…. and Helena a wife and mother who envies the life that Zody has… Helen is driven by jealousy to invent a revenge plot against Zody who she believes is having an affair with her husband… and if she’s not she has the life that Helena deserves…. not sure how Helena came to this conclusion but she was slightly nuts… OK she was a lot nuts! And at the end of the day Zody wasn’t too far behind her in nuthood….

A crazy ride of a book filled with unlikable characters doing questionable things throughout… this was a quick fast paced story that you could absolutely read in a single sitting… I really couldn’t get through it quick enough, I had to find out what these crazy people were up to next!

Recommend two fans of a psychological thriller with a quick pace and unlikable nutty characters…

Part-Time Lover by Lauren Blakely @LaurenBlakely3 #AudiobookReview

Part-Time Lover by Lauren Blakely

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 Mermaid Stars

Synopsis

I’ll say this about Christian — he made one hell of a first impression.
When I first saw the strapping man, he was doing handstands naked on a dock along the canal. His crown jewels were far more entertaining than anything else I’d seen on the boat tour, so I did what any curious woman would do — I took his photo. I might have looked at the shot a few dozen times. Little did I know I’d meet him again, a year later, at a secret garden bar in the heart of the city, where I’d learn that his mind and his mouth were even more captivating. But given the way my heart had been trampled, I wanted only a simple deal — No strings. No expectations.
Our arrangement worked well enough until the day I needed a lot more from him…

***
Let me just say, this whole part-time lover thing was her idea. I’d have gone all-in from the start, but hey, when a gorgeous, brilliant woman invites you into her bed, and only her bed…well, I said yes.
But then, one hysterical phone call from my brother later, begging me to find myself a wife so grandfather’s business stays in the family, and I need a promotion with Elise. Turns out a full-time husband suits her needs too, and a temporary marriage of convenience ought to do the trick, until we can simply untie the knot…

As long as no one finds out…
As long as no one gets hurt…
As long as no one falls in love…

But our ending was one I never saw coming.

Review

You may remember meeting (or seeing) Christian in ALL his glory, doing naked handstands if you read Wanderlust, in fact, you have already met Elise (She was Joy’s friend) however you do not need to have read it to be able to enjoy this one.

Lauren Blakely is the epitome of a Rom Com queen, she writes funny, sweet and sexy so brilliantly, there is always a little angst but nothing to make you roll your eyes at, and there is always…ALWAYS a great story to take you away.

This was no exception…

Elise and Christian nearly have a meet cute when she visits a friend in Copenhagen, but that falls through, even though she does manage to get herself some tasty handstand snaps to ogle at.

They eventually meet in Paris a year later and by a weird series of coincidences, they embark on a crazy deal to help out Christian’s younger brother.

The fact that this was a second chance romance is also why i loved it so much, Lauren’s characters are always a little older and wiser, so you don’t seem to get the college angst kind of vibes from them.

🎧🎧With the usual funny banter and brilliant one-liners this falls into another “Must Listen” audio book

Grace Grant and Shane east were perfect voices for these characters, they gelled together brilliantly and some of the sexy accents made me sit listening with a goofy smile on my face.

Save a credit for this one guys, you won’t be disappointed!

One Summer Weekend by Juliet Archer @julietarcher @rararesources #BookReview #BlogTour

Love these summertime reads! Today I am thrilled to be part of the blog tour for this lovely love story… many thanks to Rachel for my invitation and Juliet archer for this beautiful story💕😍

One Summer WeekendOne Summer Weekend

One summer weekend can change everything …

Alicia Marlowe’s life as an executive coach is well under control – until she meets her new client, Jack Smith. Jack’s reputation precedes him and Alicia knows immediately that he spells trouble. Not least because he reminds her of someone else – a man who broke her heart and made her resolve never to lower her guard again.

Taking Jack on as a client is a risk, but one that Alicia decides to take for the good of her career. As long as she keeps him in his place, she might just make it through unscathed. But Jack has other ideas – including a ‘business’ trip to the Lake District. One summer weekend with him is all it takes to put Alicia’s carefully organised world in a spin …

My Thoughts

4 Summertime Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I’m such a sucker for a book with a summery cover/title… wherever the lake district is located it sounds quite beautiful, need to add it to my list of many places I want to visit when I’m in the UK…. this was a sweet short story that put a smile on my face….

Alicia and Jack Meat when Alicia becomes his executive coach… Alicia wants to maintain a professional relationship, but Jack is persistent…. after a weekend in the lake district love blooms… but then Alicia’s ex shows up and things go a little sideways… will Alicia and Jack get their HEA?

This was a short book and because of the length I didn’t get as much character development as I would have liked… wouldn’t mind getting a follow up, I would love to get to know Jack and Chloe better along with some of the secondary characters in this novella…

Recommend to fans of summertime and love💕
