The Downside of Love by Meghan Quinn @AuthorMegQuinn @InkSlingerPR #BookReview

The heat is on both outside and in this sizzling book!🔥

Thrilled to be part of the blog tour for the second book in this emotionally charged duology😍

This isn’t a story about a love triangle. There is no triangle involved.

This isn’t a story about an accidental pregnancy. Although having a baby with her . . . I would.

This isn’t a story about lies and deception, even though at times I’ve lied to myself.

No, this is my story.

A story about sacrifice.

A story about a man who fell in love with the wrong girl.

A story I wish I never had to tell.

This is a story about the true meaning of the downside of love.

My Thoughts

5Emotional Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Meghan Quinn what an emotional journey you have taken me on with this duology… The first book is an absolute must before you read this one…. in my review of the first book I compared the book to a plane flight that landed you in the wrong destination…. now this book starts with you at that incorrect destination… at first all you can think is… this is not where I want to be! But then you take a closer look and you see this location is different but beautiful as well…. The sun is shining, the waves are crashing, the drinks are flowing… so you decide to stay and see how it goes, perhaps this will be the best vacation you’ve ever had???

This book sure made me alter my expectations… i’m going to need to be very vague in this review, because the entire book is really a spoiler and I do not want to spoil this for you… just know this is a beautiful emotional story that will take your emotions on a rollercoaster ride…. you’ll find yourself wanting things to happen that you never thought you would… apparently Meghan Quinn knows better than we do….

This book had everything you want in a romance… fantastic characters… sizzling chemistry… and all the feels… this book will make your heart beat a little faster and set those butterflies off in your stomach… and the ending….. perfection! And the epilogue… ugh please tell me there is a follow up, please!

Absolutely recommend to fans of an emotionally filled love story that will leave you with a smile on your face and hope in your heart💕

Tucked away at the base of the Rocky Mountains lived a little boy with one singular dream: leave this broken and battered home and become someone.

Be somebody’s hero.

That boy was me—Colby Brooks. Except I’m not that same little boy anymore.

My dreams might still be the same, but my reality isn’t.

I’m smarter. Stronger. A man.

And I learned a long damn time ago, the only way to achieve my dreams was to avoid distractions—at any cost.

Focus. Resolve. Determination.

But all it took was one single night. One night and my entire life…changed.

One night had me colliding head first with the biggest distraction of my life; Rory Oaks.

Smart. Charming. Beautiful.

Rory changed everything.

Quickly, my one-track mind started to bend.

Each kiss faded decade-long dreams.

And with one single incident, I fly off course.

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane – Part 2: Summer Secrets by Emily Harvale #LilyPondLane @emilyharvale @rararesources #BookReview

Hope your summer is going wonderfully!

Another blog tour for a fabulous summer read… I am SO loving this adorable serial😍

Many thanks to Rachel for the invitation and to Emily Harvale for this delightful story💜🐸

Summer Secrets

The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane

Summer Secrets

Escape to the seaside village of Little Pondale with Part Two of this heart-warming and romantic, four-part serial.

Mia Ward was amazed to inherit her great-aunt Matilda’s thatched cottage in the tiny seaside village of Little Pondale – especially as Mia didn’t know she had a great-aunt Matilda. She was even more astonished to discover she’d only inherit the place if she lives there for a year.

Now Mia and her friends, Ella and Garrick are embracing village life. Garrick’s also embracing someone in The Frog and Lily, so Mia turns her attention to one or two of her sexy, single neighbours. But great-aunt Matilda remains an enigma and Mia’s still determined to discover who she was.

When Mia’s mum, Lori arrives, she’s eager to see what the summer has to offer. There’s the Kite Festival, the Fête, the Frog Hill Run, but what really appeals to Lori, much to Mia’s horror, is the Midsummer Night’s naked bathing in the pond at Frog’s Hollow.

As sweltering days surrender to sultry nights, love is definitely in the air. And when an incident means Mia has to face her greatest fear, help arrives from a surprising source. But one thing is clear… someone is trying to make sure Mia doesn’t stay in Little Pondale…

My Thoughts

5 Enchanting Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I was so eager to get back to Lily Pondale that I picked this book up immediately after the first in the serial… I would strongly encourage you to read the first book before you start this one… once again the charm and the beauty of this quaint village filled with gorgeous men and quirky characters, made me want to pack my bags and quickly head to the UK…. but then my vacation hopes were dashed when I found out this is a fictional Village??? How disappointing 😞

Mia and gang are back… Love is in the air, however this book Took a bit of a different turn than I was expecting… and now I am hoping it heads in the direction I want it to, but… Mia girl you are so fickle! Along with the Romance we have a dose of mystery…. what is the real story behind Matilda and why are there no pictures of her?

Love all the fun events in the village… the kite festival…the Fete… The Midsummer nude bathing… not too sure about that last one? And I’m still not 100% sure what a Fete is, but every book I read that takes place in a small village in the UK seems to have one and it looks fun?!?!

Cannot wait to get to the third installment in this serial… so much romantic uncertainty and the mystery of Matilda still to be solved… in addition to this the arrival of Mia’s mother has definitely added some color to the story…. and how correct will the fortuneteller be in her predictions???

Absolutely recommend this charming serial… A perfect summer read and each installment can be read in an afternoon spent by the pool☀️

The Bitter End by Ann Evans and Robert D Tysall @bloodhoundbooks @annevansauthor @TYSALLSPHOTOS #BookReview

Happy Tuesday book friends!

Thrilled to be part of the blog blitz for this dark thriller with a dose of the supernatural… many thanks to Sarah for the invitation and to Ann and Robert for their disturbing story🖤

About the Book

Paul finally has his life back on track. After losing his wife, Helena in a horrific car crash, he has found love with Sally and moves into her country cottage.

As a former high-ranking Naval Officer, Paul now works as Head of Security at MI5.

Paul has no memories from before he was ten years old. An accident left him in a coma for 9 months.  But was it really an accident?

Soon Paul starts to have flashes of childhood memories, all involving his childhood friend, Owen.

Sally introduces him to her friend, Juliet, the owner of a craft shop. Paul is shocked when he is introduced to Juliet’s partner, his old friend Owen.

Flashes of memories continue to haunt Paul, particularly the memory of his first wife Helena burning in the car crash.

As dark things start to happen, and local people begin dying in horrific accidents, Paul must face his past and will end up fighting for his life.

My Thoughts

4 Disturbing Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Well now… this book was very dark and very disturbing…. i’d say it almost slipped into the horror genre with some supernatural elements… you really do need to suspend belief for this one, so if that’s not your bag I’d avoid it…. it also had a dark creepy atmosphere that made me a little more afraid of the things that go bump in the night….

Hitler… a cottage in the woods… missing memories… this book really has all the elements of a really freaky movie…. the kind of movie I’d spend hiding behind my popcorn for most of…. this book really is not for the faint of heart! Perfectly paste… well plotted… with something creepy around every corner…. this book will keep you on edge, your brain on overdrive, your heart beating fast, and your palms sweating… when I was done I needed a shower, a cocktail, and a romcom!

Absolutely recommend to fans of a thriller with a supernatural and dark element…

About the Authors

Robert Tysall was born and brought up in Rugby, Warwickshire, and played the sport the town is famous for in his youth, until he discovered a passion and talent for photography, music and writing poetry and song lyrics. His career so far has been a busy mix of being lead vocalist and percussionist in bands plus working as a professional freelance photographer.

He is currently in a 60s, 70s & Beatles duo, and lives in Warwickshire with his wife, Heather. He has two grown up children. Rob is multi published on the photographic side of things with countless magazine articles, generally working alongside writer Ann Evans.

For many years he has dabbled with ideas for stories and finally the time felt right with this book. It seemed a natural turn of events for both Rob and Ann to team up and write The Bitter End together.

With his debut novel completed, now there’s no stopping him, and two more book collaborations with Ann are currently in the pipeline.

Ann Evans was born and bred in Coventry, West Midlands, and started writing just for fun after giving up her secretarial job to have her three children.

Having caught the writing ‘bug’ there was no stopping her, and as her children grew up, she continued to write for a variety of genres. She spent 13 years at her local newspaper as a Feature Writer as well as working freelance on magazine articles.

She also writes books for children, young adults, reluctant readers and some romance. (Ann Carroll) Her first adult crime novel, Kill or Die was published in 2017 by Bloodhound Books.

Having worked with writer/photographer Robert D. Tysall for many years through magazine work, Ann and Rob teamed up to write the supernatural thriller, The Bitter End – Ann’s first collaboration with another writer.  This will be published by Bloodhound Books in the summer of 2018.

Summer at the Little Duck Pond Café by Rosie Green @Rosie_Green1988 @rararesources #BookReview

Happy Thursday!

Thrilled to be part of the blog tour for this little gem of a book! Many thanks to Rachel for my invitation and to Rosie green for her lovely story💜🦆

Summer at the Little Duck Pond Cafe Blog TourSummer at The Little Duck Pond Café

Jaz Winters stuck a pin in a map and fled to the village of Sunnybrook, looking for a brand new life – and after a rocky start, it’s beginning to look as if she made the right decision. Her blossoming friendship with Ellie and Fen has seen her through some dark times, and she’s managed to land two jobs – waitress at The Little Duck Pond Café and working as a weekend tour guide at Brambleberry Manor, the country house that’s been in Fen’s family for generations.

Sure, life isn’t totally perfect. There’s the irritating know-it-all guy who keeps popping up on her manor tours, for a start. He seems determined to get under Jaz’s skin whether she likes it or not. But she supposes it’s a small price to pay for the relative peace she’s found, living in Sunnybrook.

But just as Jaz is beginning to think rosier times are on the horizon, a shock encounter looks set to shatter her fragile happiness.

Will she be forced to flee from Sunnybrook and everyone she’s grown so fond of? Or will she find the strength to stand her ground and finally face up to the nightmares of the past?

My Thoughts

4 Fabulously Fluffy Stars🦆 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Absolutely adored this little gem of a book… this is the second book in the series, but I did not read the first book and I had absolutely no problem following…. however I am going to go back and read the first book and I am eagerly awaiting the Christmas book!

Jaz is more than happy to leave her tool of a boyfriend Grant, however she does not want to leave his little girl Titch…. so she sticks a pin in the map and finds herself in lovely Sunnybrook…. far enough to not run into anyone that would tell Grant that she has not gone far, yet close enough to see the little girl she loves and worries about…. I really liked Jaz and her devotion to Titch… I loved her friendship with Fen and Ellie…. these are three girls I would love to have lunch with especially if it was at the Little Duck Pond Café….

This book was filled with friendship, food, laughs, and a touch of romance… The romance in this book was sweet and settle…. really the perfect balance in a short novella…. I have to say the author did a fabulous job packing a lot into such a small package…. the character development was spectacular the plot was well paced and well developed…. The perfect book to pick up one afternoon when you want to escape reality and visit Sunnybrook….

Strongly recommend… this is a fabulous summer read that you will enjoy in the sun or in the air conditioning….

*** many thanks to the author and Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for my copy of this book ***

Author Bio

Rosie Green has been scribbling stories ever since she was little. Back then they were rip-roaring adventure tales with a young heroine in perilous danger of falling off a cliff or being tied up by ‘the baddies’. Thankfully, Rosie has moved on somewhat, and now much prefers to write romantic comedies that melt your heart and make you smile, with really not much perilous danger involved at all, unless you count the heroine losing her heart in love.

Rosie’s brand new series of novellas is centred on life in a village café. Summer at The Little Duck Pond Café, published on 18th June 2018, follows the first in the series, Spring at The Little Duck Pond Café.
