Happy Monday everyone!
And happy Publication Day to this first book in a fabulous new police procedural series! Many thanks to Sarah for my invitation to this blog tour and to Anthony for his wonderful book!🙂
Meet DS Adam Burnt, a troubled man who has his work cut out. While at a crime scene he is informed of another murder. But Burnt is also having problems at home. He suspects his wife is having an affair.
As the clues unfold DS Burnt begins a game of cat and mouse.
What links the two murders to a doctor and a psychiatric hospital?
Trying to juggle his personal life and the job, Burnt must navigate Great Yarmouth and the surrounding areas to catch a killer and stop a vicious gang.
My Thoughts
This is the first book in the DI Adam burnt police procedural series… it is also this author’s debut, so a big congratulations on your first published book! More than I will ever be able to say, that is for sure!
So Adam has moved his family to a different location in the UK, mainly to improve his marriage… The problem is Adam is married to his work, he also does not trust his wife… at all! However, this book focuses much more on the case rather than Adam’s home life… two teenage boys are murdered and their bodies are found close together… how are these murders related and why would anybody kill these young boys? When another body is discovered the case really gets heated up with much pressure to solve… Adam is a committed detective however his lack of familiarity with the area does hurt him….
This is a book you need to pay close attention to as it jumps around quite a bit… admittedly there were times where I was a bit confused and had to go back and reread… i’m thinking because this was the author’s debut he probably had a lot going on in his head that he wanted to put to paper…. but sometimes less is a little bit better… definitely a complex plot that kept me on my toes! I also thought Adam Burnt was a interesting character and I am super curious to see what this character does next… there is quite a bit of potential for some tremendous character growth with him!
Recommend two fans of the police procedural, a good start to what looks like a wonderful series!
*** many thanks to Bloodhound Books for my copy of this book ***
Author Bio:
Anthony Tamiozzo was born in Derby and raised in Great Yarmouth. He moved to Aberdeenshire around 2007 with his wife and two kids. He has the day job of a software engineer.
His spare time, when not hill-running, tearing down a mountain on a bike, or coaching his boys football team, he is writing about where he grew up.
He knows people who died or was killed because of drugs all in the unassuming town of Great Yarmouth, which continues to inspire his ideas.
His real name is Ant Wilson but adopted his father’s Italian surname for his writing pseudonym. His favourite writer is Elmore Leonard.
Sounds like a good debut and I like the fact that the MC is interesting. This does look like a promising series. Great review!

Absolutely you need to have an interesting MC or your series is doomed! In my humble opinion!
Can you imagine how nervous you would be the day your day viewbook came out? Not that I will ever experience that, but I’d be climbing the walls I’m sure!

Sounds like a thrilling read and a great debut!! Hopefully, the author can slow his thoughts down to combine them in a slightly more coherent way, but I just read the 1st Discworld novel and felt the same way, and he went on to write 40 more AMAZING novels! So, no harm done! 💖💖

Oh absolutely! I can only imagine you have all that going on in your brain and then you finally get to put it to paper, I personally could never do it I have way too much going on in my brain and it is so scattered if I ever wrote a book it would be challenging for anyone to read!😂😂😂
