⭐⭐⭐⭐·5 WTF Stars!!

Em is locked in a bare, cold cell with no comforts. Finn is in the cell next door. The Doctor is keeping them there until they tell him what he wants to know. Trouble is, what he wants to know hasn’t happened yet.

Em and Finn have a shared past, but no future unless they can find a way out. The present is torture – being kept apart, overhearing each other’s anguish as the Doctor relentlessly seeks answers. There’s no way back from here, to what they used to be, the world they used to know. Then Em finds a note in her cell which changes everything. It’s from her future self and contains some simple but very clear instructions. Em must travel back in time to avert a tragedy that’s about to unfold. Worse, she has to pursue and kill the boy she loves to change the future.

This one is going to be really difficult to review as it is a complete mind f**k!

So we 1st meet Em, she is in a cell and has been tortured horribly by “The Doctor”. In the cell next door is a boy called Fin, even though they have not seen each other they have a very strong connection, and she knows that she loves him.

Em manages to escape her cell and with Fin in tow they make there way to “Cassandra” a time machine, and is whisked into the future to escape the Doctors clutches.

We then meet Marina, she is a typical teenage girl, with a crush on James next door.
James is older than her, but they have been best friends for years, James is super clever and has passed all of his exams etc. 3 years before everyone else and has a very important job.

James’ s best friend and the bane of Marina’s life is Fin Abbot……………yes I know what you are thinking.

The story flips back and forth between Em and Marina, slowly piecing a puzzle together, until you realise that Em, Marina and Fin are somewhat of a mystery!

She hates him in one life and loves him in another……how?? And who the hell is “The Doctor”?
Well that would just be a spoiler now wouldn’t it !!

🎧🎧 Great narration by Meredith Mitchell who really played each character brilliantly, and didn’t make it confusing, that would have been really difficult to understand an already confusing book 😱

A very enjoyable 4•5☆ debut read.

Get those heads scratching!

Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli @BeckyAlbertalli #BookReview

Happy Tuesday y’all! The reviews for this book are all over the place, but I absolutely 100% thoroughly enjoyed it! I love both Simon and Leah and loved both of their books!🌈Leah on the Off Beat

Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli

5 Love Leah Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Leah Burke—girl-band drummer, master of deadpan, and Simon Spier’s best friend from the award-winning Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda—takes center stage in this novel of first love and senior-year angst.

When it comes to drumming, Leah Burke is usually on beat—but real life isn’t always so rhythmic. An anomaly in her friend group, she’s the only child of a young, single mom, and her life is decidedly less privileged. She loves to draw but is too self-conscious to show it. And even though her mom knows she’s bisexual, she hasn’t mustered the courage to tell her friends—not even her openly gay BFF, Simon.

So Leah really doesn’t know what to do when her rock-solid friend group starts to fracture in unexpected ways. With prom and college on the horizon, tensions are running high. It’s hard for Leah to strike the right note while the people she loves are fighting—especially when she realizes she might love one of them more than she ever intended.

~My Review~

5 Love Leah Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I absolutely adored Simon so I was slightly hesitant to read this, because how could it possibly live up to the hype? Well I shouldn’t have worried… I couldn’t tell you if this book is as good as Simon, but I enjoyed it every bit as much…. it was so fun to revisit the gang! I also read this right after I saw the movie “Love Simon” so I was even more ready to spend some more time with these characters….

Leah was such a likable and real character… I really felt for her not ever thinking she quite fitt in, even with her closest of friends…. adding in the fact that she was bisexual and not quite ready to come out with it, I could sense her insecurity…. of course in my mind I was thinking would it really be that hard to come out to your BFF who is gay and open about it? But that is my own ignorance, because this is something I have never dealt with, and I have come to realize it is a very personal decision….

I really loved getting to know Garrett better in this book, the guy is quite the comedian…. although I don’t think he purposely meant for them to have prom dinner at the American Girl store… but I’m sure glad they did, because that was one of the best scenes in this book😂 I also loved every minute we got to spend with Simon and enjoyed seeing his blossoming relationship with Brahm… at the heart of it this was a book about the angst of senior year… where are you going to go to college? Who are you going to go to prom with? Do long distance relationships work? Will we all still be friends in a year?

I really am so excited for this next generation, they are so delightfully accepting…. and books like this really help spread that love, it is time we all realize we are all more similar than we are different! Don’t want to sound preachy, but this book really just left me feeling very hopeful!

Absolutely recommend to anybody who enjoys a book filled with real and well-developed characters!

Peace and Love berit 💛☮️

In Bed with the Beast by Tara Sivec @TaraSivec #BookReview #NaughtyPrincess

Happy Saturday all! Excited to bring you my review of this adorable laugh out loud book from the amazing Tara Sivec.💜👑

In Bed with the Beast

In Bed with the Beast by Tara Sivec

5 Naughty Princess Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A tale as old as time: she needs a place to stay, he’s a grump with a secret and an extra room…can love find a way?

Meet the Naughty Princess Club, a series from USA Today bestselling author Tara Sivec that brings readers to Fairytale Lane and the hilarity—and romance—that three women fall into once they decide to strut their stuff and bring on their own happily ever after.

Living in her overprotective dad’s basement, shy Belle lives her life through books. Being a part of the Naughty Princess Club is the first adventure she’s ever had, plus she desperately needs the money to save one of her favorite places – the local library.

But when her new friends and new business gets her kicked out of her dad’s house, Belle is rescued by the surly Vincent “Beast” Adams who invites her to be his house guest until she gets back on her feet. Despite his attitude problem and long list of rules, Belle finds herself warming to the muscled man with a penchant for growling and starts seeing a gentle side to him that wasn’t there before.

Yet there’s a room that Beast keeps locked and Belle keeps getting hints that Beast is hiding something…can a nerdy librarian tame the beast or will their romance be over before it has a chance to blossom?

5 Naughty Princess Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Oops she did it again! Another fabulous book from Tara Sivec… this is the second book in the Naughty Princess Series, but it can be read as a standalone… however I would encourage you to read them all, they are filled with so much laughter and love….

Belle has lead a pretty sheltered life until she becomes friends with Cindy and Ariel… The three ladies bond over man troubles and money problems and decide to form Naughty Princesses…Belle has a tremendous love of books and loves her job as a librarian…. however the library is in some financial trouble, so Belle wants to earn some extra money working for the newly formed company…. The problem? Can innocent Belle pull off a striptease?

Beast a.k.a. Vince is a quiet hunk of a man, who is there to rescue Belle when her dad kicks her out of the house…. The romance between Beast and Belle was sooo adorable! I loved seeing Beast come out of his shell and Belle get a little sassy…. so many laugh out loud moments… especially when the three girls get together… Love the friendship between the three of them, well I pretty much love everything about this book and series… can’t wait for the next one, because Ariel is my fave!

A fun retelling of Beauty and the Beast, with a naughty twist…

*** many thanks to the publisher for my copy of this book ***

Star by B.B. Easton – @bb_easton #AudiobookReview

Star by B.B. Easton

⭐⭐⭐⭐🌠 Rock Star Stars

Because BB Easton had so much fun writing her best-selling, award-winning memoir, 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN, she decided to give each of her four men his own steamy stand-alone. STAR is Hans’s book—a real-life rock star romance…with a twist.

In 1999, Brooke “BB” Bradley met her Prince Charming. He was the tall, tattooed, wickedly handsome bass player for the up-and-coming rock band, Phantom Limb. But, more importantly, he was hers. She knew it the moment he flashed her that shy, dimpled smile.

And he knew it too.

Hansel “Hans” Oppenheimer wore his heart on one sleeve and scrawled lyrics about BB on the other. Unlike the assholes of her past, he showered her with tenderness, took her places she’d never been before, and showed her the type of all-consuming love she’d thought only existed in fairy tales.

But, like any good fairy tale, BB’s road to happily ever after was paved with challenges, and right when she least expected it…it forked.

In 1999, Brooke “BB” Bradley met her Prince Charming.

In 2000, she met her soul mate.

Well this book was a complete surprise, one minute i was laughing my head off, then my heart was in my mouth, and then i was sobbing!

BB takes a story about her and lets you take a glimpse inside what it is like to fall in love with a Rock Star, the good times, and inevitably, the bad.

She is very honest in her stories and this makes her very relatable as we’ve all been a 17 year old in love.

And in those 17 years this woman has had to put up with some shitty times, she was in an abusive relationship with what can only be described as a nutter.

Then she meets Hans Oppenheimer, and all of the feelings of first love come flooding in, the butterflies, the giddyness, the swooning!

Hans managed to make a beaten down girl into a strong independant woman, and even though her love didn’t last with him, she states at the beginning of the book that she will always be grateful to him because of this.

I love her secondary characters, and Trip was such a lovable weirdo, although i googled Bukkake porn, and i will never be the same again 😱😱

🎧🎧 Narration was done by Romana Master and was fab, she really made a funny quirky character come to life.

Thank you BB for the opportunity to read such a fabulous book.

Enjoy the Roller Coaster.

The Disappearance of Sloane Sullivan by Gia Cribbs @GiaCribbs @HarlequinTeen #BookReview

Happy Monday y’all! Today I am bringing you my review for this wonderful young adult contemporary/thriller… Young or old I think you will thoroughly enjoy this book if you are a fan of thrillers with a splash of teenage angst💕

The Disappearance of Sloane Sullivan

The Disappearance of Sloane Sullivan by Gia Cribbs

4.5 Sloan Sullivan Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5

No one wants me to tell you about the disappearance of Sloane Sullivan.

Not the lawyers or the cops. Not her friends or family. Not even the boy who loved her more than anyone. And most certainly not the United States Marshals Service. You know, the people who run the witness protection program or, as it’s officially called, the Witness Security Program? Yeah, the WITSEC folks definitely don’t want me talking to you.

But I don’t care. I have to tell someone.

If I don’t, you’ll never know how completely wrong things can go. How a single decision can change everything. How, when it really comes down to it, you can’t trust anyone. Not even yourself. You have to understand, so it won’t happen to you next. Because you never know when the person sitting next to you isn’t who they claim to be…and because there are worse things than disappearing.

~My Review~

4.5 Sloan Sullivan Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5

This book was just so much fun to read… I enjoyed it from first page to last… The book was like a mash up of a YA contemporary and a thriller…. and warning to my thriller loving friends, the first 60% of this book is filled with quite a bit of teenage angst…. I found it a perfect blend, however it is a slow building thriller… but well worth it!

Sloan is a typical teenager… with the same dreams and feelings as other teens… The difference Sloan isn’t her real name, in fact this is the 19th name she’s had in the past six years… sloan has been in witness protection ever since she was 12 and witnessed a murder along with her father…. but she only has nine more weeks… and then she will be Sloan Sullivan forever living a normal life going to college…. so when on her first day at the new school she runs into Jason a boy from her past, she is not going to tell Mark her handler…. nothing is standing in her way of a normal life….

sloan was a fabulous character… smart and funny and never feeling sorry for herself and her situation…. I loved the bond between Jason and her… there were quite a few adorable and swoon worthy moments in the first part of this book…. along with a scavenger hunt, senior trip, and of course the prom…. also found the relationship between Sloan and Mark (her handler) really interesting, the trust you’d need to have for that person….

I thought Sloan’s past was revealed to us very well… and I enjoyed all the flashbacks of her time in witness protection and before… there were some intense moments towards the end of this book and some twists I was caught off guard by… extremely well done especially for A debut!

Absolutely recommend to fans of a slow building thriller, just keep in mind these are teenagers and the beginning of this book is filled with all kinds of teenage nonsense and fun… I think this book is perfect for all ages, and if you are a parent I’d say 15 and up, there is some partying and sexual references….

*** thank you so much to the publisher and Net Galley for my copy of this wonderful book ***

“Addictive like all Kylie Scott books, you’ll swoon, laugh, ache, put your life on hold, and compulsively read until the wee hours of the night—only to reread the whole thing the next morning. Perfection!” – Katy Evans, New York Times bestselling author

Returning home for her father’s wedding was never going to be easy for Adele. If being sent away at eighteen hadn’t been bad enough, the mess she left behind when she made a pass at her dad’s business partner sure was.

Fifteen years older than her, Pete had been her crush for as long as she could remember. But she’d misread the situation—confusing friendliness for undying love. Awkward. Add her father to the misunderstanding, and Pete was left with a broken nose and a business on the edge of ruin. The man had to be just as glad as everyone else when she left town.

Seven years later, things are different. Adele is no longer a kid, but a fully grown adult more than capable of getting through the wedding and being polite. But all it takes is seeing him again to bring back those old feelings.

Sometimes first loves are the truest.

~My Review~

4.5 brilliant Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5

This book did a fabulous job of balancing humor and some serious subject matter…. Holly has been married for 15 years… after reading some suggestive text messages on her husband’s phone, trust has gone out the window…. i’ve always said the minute I am reading messages on somebody’s phone I’m out the door, if I can’t trust you we are done! Of course I say this as a happily divorced woman, and my marriage did not break up because of cheating, we had plenty of other issues… I mention this because I think there are some parts of this book I viewed differently because for me my life improve so much after I left my marriage, that I see it as a good option… and I realize this is not how a lot of people look at it….

Holly was a wonderful character, and let me just start this off by saying she was way too good for her husband Alex…. Holly was fun, real, and really did not give her self enough credit…. Alex was just a pompous jerk…. I cannot imagine this was a blissful marriage up until to the point of these text messages, unless Alex had a personality transformation as well… did not like him… at all… Holly is determined to save her marriage though… she does this by trying to spice things up in the bedroom… and by throwing him a 40th birthday party…. she also took it upon herself to play detective and some of her techniques were quite amusing….

The secondary characters in this book were quite quirky and fun… loved Holly’s brother Simon he was fabulous! Jack was quite delightful as well… Holly‘s two BFFs were a lot of fun also, even though she suspected one of them of being the person Alex was cheating with….

brilliant book filled with fabulous characters, lots of laughs and an ending you will not see coming… absolutely recommend if you enjoy a humorous book about real life….

From Twinkle, with Love by Sandhya Menon #BookReview @smenonbooks

🇺🇸 happy Memorial Day all! Today in the US we celebrate memorial day, a day to remember those who have died defending our rights and our country… A huge thanks from me to those who are serving, have served, and have loved ones that are serving or have served🇺🇸

My review today is for a book with a female heroine who is an Indian American. Twinkle’s family came to America so she could have a better life, read my review and meet Twinkle she is quite the delight💫

From Twinkle With Love

From Twinkle, with Love by Sandhya Menon

4.5 Twinkling Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5

Aspiring filmmaker and wallflower Twinkle Mehra has stories she wants to tell and universes she wants to explore, if only the world would listen. So when fellow film geek Sahil Roy approaches her to direct a movie for the upcoming Summer Festival, Twinkle is all over it. The chance to publicly showcase her voice as a director? Dream come true. The fact that it gets her closer to her longtime crush, Neil Roy—a.k.a. Sahil’s twin brother? Dream come true x 2.

When mystery man “N” begins emailing her, Twinkle is sure it’s Neil, finally ready to begin their happily-ever-after. The only slightly inconvenient problem is that, in the course of movie-making, she’s fallen madly in love with the irresistibly adorkable Sahil.

Twinkle soon realizes that resistance is futile: The romance she’s got is not the one she’s scripted. But will it be enough?

Told through the letters Twinkle writes to her favorite female filmmakers, From Twinkle, with Love navigates big truths about friendship, family, and the unexpected places love can find you.

4.5 Twinkling Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5

This was a fun, adorable, sweet, YA contemporary that had me smiling the entire book…. there is something so readable about this author’s writing style…. in both this book and ”When Dimple Met Ricci” The characters were brought so amazingly to life….

Twinkle feels like lo woman on the social totem pole… in fact she refers to her self as a “groundling”… and the popular people are referred to as something to do with silk feathered hats…. Twinkle’s ultimate dream in life is to become a movie director, she idolizes all female movie directors… in fact this book is written in letter form, with twinkle writing letters to multiple different female movie directors… a epistolary novel…

Twinkle was a likable, real, naïve, and sometimes very frustrating teenage girl…. she somehow got herself into a love Square… Sahil the boy who has been crushing on her since he was 11, a secret admirer, and then the boy she has a crush on… Sahil’s twin brother Neil…Sahil was super adorable both inside and out, his twin on the other hand? Twinkle really drove me crazy in this situation… and the fact that she did not have a mother to talk to drove me even more crazy(The jury is still out on mom)…. then we have supposed BFF Maddie… first of all I hate the mean girl trope… but Maddie was not being a good friend… and whose to blame?Maddie! not her new group of friends…Ugh! Twinkle really needed a big sister, because mom was so busy pouting or something…. drove me nuts! As I was reading this I was coming up with all kinds of brilliant words of wisdom I should pass on to Twinkle, if I ever were to have the chance…. The biggest of these things being high school is only four years of your life, so in the big scope of life it doesn’t matter who you sit by at lunch in high school… oh and probably more important… date the nice guy you have things in common with, not the hot guy you have nothing in common with! And in this case they are twins, so what’s the problem here?

As you can probably tell I got quite invested in Twinkle and her life… so do I recommend? Absolutely! Fabulous book with some lessons learned at the end, that I really appreciated! Things aren’t always as they seem and the popular feather hat wearing people have problems as well… if you are a parent I’d recommend for kids 12 and up, this is a very clean read…

*** many thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for my copy of this book ***

Love Beyond Opposites by Molly E. Lee #BlogTour #BookReview @chapterxchapter @MollyELee @EntangledTeen

Today I am on the blog tour for this fun young adult book, that I would have absolutely fallen in love with when I was a teenager! I started reading young adult again when my older kids were teenagers, I wanted to see what they were reading, and I really truly enjoyed teenagers and enjoyed being a teenager myself…. I do read young adult books through the eyes of a mother, so sometimes I see some silly flaws that I would not have seen when I was younger… this book is a perfect example I truly found it a fun quick read, however I think it is truly meant for the young adult audience…💜

3.5 Cute Stars 🌟🌟🌟.5

If I were a teenage girl this would be my ultimate fantasy grad night…. apparently this is the third book in the series, although it can be read as a standalone…. The books all take place during the same timeframe, but from the perspective of three different couples… this is Jade and Lenin’s story…

Jade is the nerd and Lenin is the rockstar…. so how could he ever fall for a girl like her? I did like both of these characters… and of course they had more in common than it appeared on the surface… they also had both been harboring a crush for one another for the past four years….

Now there were quite a few things about this book that were unrealistic… like you probably should not have a career changing performance at a grad night house party… also nobody is getting into UCLA at the last minute, and they are not on the semester system (I know this is a picky detail)…. all this is to say is that this was a fun Quick read but not terribly realistic…. it was also filled with clichés and stereotypes, yet still enjoyable…

This is a young adult book I believe that is truly meant for a young adult audience… if you are a parent I think the only thing that would stop you from letting a younger reader read this is there is teenage drinking, other than that it was pretty clean…
