One Day in December by Josie Silver @JosieSilver_ #6bookbestiesonedayindecember #6bookbestieapproved #bookreview

Happy Tuesday bibliophiles!

So excited to share with you today this beautiful love story that is definitely making my favorites of 2018 list! We were all so very lucky that Jennifer was offered this book from Goodreads and the publisher to read with her book Besties💕💕💕 such a beautiful story to get to share, read, and discuss together!😍

One Day in December by Josie Silver

My Thoughts

LOOOVED IT!!! Every page, every sentence, every word, every letter!!!

In case you cannot tell I have fallen head over heels in love with this book! It has earned a place on my fave shelf and is absolutely one of my top five reeds of 2018… such a beautiful story, so full of love and heart…. this is an epic love story spanning an entire decade… a story with all the feels, you will laugh, you will cry, you will smile, you will shake your head, you will fall in love… this book will break your heart over and over again and then fill it back up with love just as many times! Simply put it was MAGICAL!

Laurie doesn’t believe in love at first sight until she glimpses a boy at the bus stop…Laurie was such a wonderful character so well developed, I felt as though I would know her if she were walking down the street… adored her friendship with Sarah, one of my absolute favorite parts of this book… such a positive realistic portrayal of what a female friendships should be…. of course they have their ups and downs, but at the end of the day they were always there for one another…. all three of the main characters in this book Laurie, Sarah, and Jack were well drawn likable characters that you definitely could relate to…

Told from alternating points of view… we got the insights and perceptions of both Laurie and Jack threwout the decade… The book was structured brilliantly you never were confused as to who was narrating and what year it was… in fact the entire book is told linearly, there was no jumping around kind of nice for a change….

I absolutely recommend this stunning story to everyone with a heart! A wonderful Christmas read!

This was a group read with my Book Besties… Jennifer was approached by Goodreads and the publisher with this book and just as a true friend does she included all of us! How appropriate for a group of friends to read a story with such a tremendous focus on friendship… we had a wonderful discussion, we were all captivated by this story! We also thought it would make a fantastic movies, we even casted it… I thought I’d share our choices with you all!

Laurie we thought should be played bye Shailene Woodley, Sarah played by Jennifer Lawrence, and Jack buy either Liam Hemsworth or Zac Efron… have you read this? What do you think?

*** huge thanks to Goodreads, Crown Publishing, and Jennifer for my copy of this book ***

About the Book

A love story about what happens after you meet, or rather, don’t meet the one.

Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn’t exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there’s a moment of pure magic…and then her bus drives away.

Certain they’re fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn’t find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they “reunite” at a Christmas party, when her best friend Sarah giddily introduces her new boyfriend to Laurie. It’s Jack, the man from the bus. It would be.

What follows for Laurie, Sarah and Jack is ten years of friendship, heartbreak, missed opportunities, roads not taken, and destinies reconsidered. One Day in December is a joyous, heartwarming and immensely moving love story to escape into and a reminder that fate takes inexplicable turns along the route to happiness.

The Italian’s Christmas Housekeeper by Sharon Kendrick @HarlequinBooks #novemberrecomendedreads #bookreview

Title: THE ITALIAN’S CHRISTMAS HOUSEKEEPER
Author: Sharon Kendrick
Genre: Romance
Harlequin Imprint: Presents
Blurb:
From making the billionaire’s bed… To Christmas between his sheets!
Shy housekeeper Molly Millar always tries her best. She’s anxious to impress outrageously wealthy houseguest Salvio de Gennaro, but instead is unfairly criticized by her employer! When she’s found sobbing by Salvio, he comforts her…with the most amazing experience of her life. But when that incredible encounter costs Molly her job, Salvio rescues her with an irresistible proposition: become his temporary housekeeper—just in time for Christmas!

My Thoughts

Well now… this was one suite but frustrating Sizzling romance…

The blurb says this is a Cinderella story, but somebody failed to notify the hero in this book! This book was very reminiscent of a oldschool Harlequin romance… you know the type you picked up at the neighbors garage sale? I mean this in the best possible way, sometimes it’s just nice to escape… also I have not read a romance like this in a long time, so it was quite nostalgic…

Molly is Shy and stressed with the burden of her brothers gambling debt… while working as a Housekeeper for a very evil woman she meets Salvio…. after a night of passion Molly end Salvio agree this is just a one night stand… BUT after evil lady finds out she sacks Molly and Molly ends up working for Salvio… and then our prince Salvio has a complete personality change….

Molly was very likable although a little too insecure…Salvio started out as a dashing hero, but then he turned into a pompous ass… will the real Salvio, please stand up… I was as frustrated with Salvio if not more then Molly… so did these two resolve their issues? Does prince charming ever show up? You will need to read this book to find out!

Recommend two all true romance lovers…

*** many thanks to harlequin for my copy of this book ***

To the horror of my parents, I left school at sixteen and held a bewildering variety of jobs: I was a London DJ (in the now-trendy Primrose Hill), a decorator and a singer. After that I became a cook, a photographer and, eventually, a nurse. I waitressed in the south of France, drove an ambulance in Australia, saw lots of beautiful sights but could never settle down. Everywhere I went I felt like a square peg–until one day I started writing again and then everything just fell into place. I felt like Cinderella must have when the glass slipper fit!
Today, I have the best job in the world, writing passionate romances for Harlequin. I like writing stories which are sexy and fast-paced, yet packed full of emotion–stories that readers will identify with, laugh and cry along with.
My interests are many and varied–chocolate and music, fresh flowers and bubble baths, films, cooking and trying to keep my home from looking burglarized! Simple pleasures–you can’t beat them!
I live in Winchester, one of the most stunning cities in the world, but don’t take my word for it–come see for yourself! I regularly visit London and Paris. Oh, and I love hearing from my readers all over the world…so I think it’s over to you!

The Coco Pinchard Box Set: A Very Coco Christmas by Robert Bryndza @RobertBryndza @CocoPinchard @BOTBSPublicity #TeamBryndza #bookreview

Happy Monday book friends!

Delighted to share with you today my review for this fun and festive story! A huge thank you to Sarah for my invitation to the tour and to Robert Bryndza for his wonderful words🤓

‘Coco Pinchard has to be one of my favorite female characters. If you love the Bridget Jones series, then you need to check this out!’ Kerensa, Amazon Reader

For the first time, all 5 books in Robert Bryndza’s bestselling Coco Pinchard romantic comedy series are available in one! And this box set includes a new introduction by the author.

Coco_Boxset_TransparentBook 1: The Not So Secret Emails of Coco Pinchard

If you enjoyed flipping through Bridget Jones’s diary, you’ll love perusing Coco Pinchard’s emails! Coco confides in her quirky, supportive friends as she deals with her life falling apart. Read the emails that tell the heart warming and often hilarious tale of Coco picking up the pieces, in this fun, feel-good Romantic Comedy.

Book 2: Coco Pinchard’s Big Fat Tipsy Wedding

Coco thinks she’s on the road to happily ever after with Adam, until he inexplicably breaks up with her. Will one mistake cost them their whole future? Coco sets out to discover what has really happened, and uncovers a shocking secret Adam has been hiding from her… Full of hilarious twists and turns, Coco Pinchard’s Big Fat Tipsy Wedding is a witty, heart-warming, romantic comedy – the stand-alone sequel to no.1 bestselling, The Not So Secret Emails of Coco Pinchard.

Book 3: Coco Pinchard, the Consequences of Love and Sex

Coco Pinchard has a great life, a bestselling memoir, and a handsome second husband. Things are going exactly as planned — until her adult son runs into disaster, her ex’s mother butts back into her life, and she finds out she’s pregnant! Maybe life is more fun if you throw your plans out the window… The third book in Robert Bryndza’s bestselling Coco Pinchard series (which can also be enjoyed as a stand-alone story) is a hilarious diary with Coco’s trademark wit and honesty, tracing the raging hormones and extraordinary twists that take her to motherhood for the second time.

Book 4: A Very Coco Christmas

It’s 1985, and eighteen-year-old Coco Pinchard is home for Christmas after her first term at University. She’s fallen hopelessly in love with Daniel Pinchard, but Coco’s mother wants her to be with Kenneth, the son of posh friends Adrian and Yvonne Rosebury, who will be joining them for Christmas.

As snow falls softly over the city, and Coco tries to juggle a series of hilarious events, the stage is set for a Christmas lunch like no other. A Very Coco Christmas is a delicious, stand-alone prequel short story to Robert Bryndza’s smash-hit Coco Pinchard series.

Book 5: Coco Pinchard’s Must-Have Toy Story

A sparkling feel-good comedy, which asks the question – how far would you go to get your child the must-have Christmas toy?

It’s December 1992, and children are going crazy for the Tracy Island toy – almost as crazy as the parents! Christmas day is fast approaching and Coco Pinchard is desperately trying to track one down for her four-year-old son Rosencrantz.

From dodgy dealings in a motorway lay-by, to extreme shopping in Hamley’s with a Sylvanian Families fanatic, to having a go at the Blue Peter make-your-own Tracy Island, Coco tries everything in the hope that four-year-old Rosencrantz will open his must-have toy on Christmas morning.

My Thoughts on A Very Coco Christmas

This book would make Santa’s belly shake when he laughs like a bowl full of jelly…HoHoHo 🎅🏻

this hilarious novella was the perfect appetizer to the cocoa Pinchard series… this book definitely wet my appetite and left me craving more….This book was the perfect blend of romance, humor, and Christmas… The characters in this story were absolutely delightful, but perhaps it was the turkey that stole the show….

Coco was absolutely fantastic I would love to be friends with the girl… Daniel was the perfect amount of bad boy… there two mothers were just perfect to play off each other, I really got a kick out of Daniel‘s mother Ethel! I mean what’s not to love about a book set in the 80s filled with aquanet, a turkey, and the Christmas dinner from hell! This book just made me smile the entire time, it also made me want to drop everything and dive into this series! And I truly would have if I didn’t have so many other books I need to get to…

Fantastic festive read that kicks off what looks like a must-read romcom series!

Snowy Nights at the Lonely Hearts Hotel by Karen King @karen_king @bookouture #bookreview ⛄️

Happy Sunday bibliophiles!

Delighted to share with you today my review for this dazzling and festive holiday Red!🎄

Snowy Nights at the Lonely Hearts Hotel by Karen King

My Thoughts

A dazzling heartwarming story full of comfort and joy!

This was a fantastical festive story that made me smile from first page to last…. A wonderful Christmas book is like the star on top of the Christmas tree; it just makes the season brighter…. This truly is a perfect Christmas book for those of us that could read a Christmas book in the middle of July! You know who you are! This book thoroughly embraces the Christmas spirit, not a good book for a Grinch! Although it would probably make your heart grow two sizes larger!

Saffy works hard and parties harder, or so everyone thinks…. when her sister calls pleading with her to host her annual Christmas single parent party, Saffy reluctantly agrees… not necessarily the type of party she had planned to bring her Christmas cheer…. with the help of her sisters handsome single neighbor Logan and his adorable daughter Chloe, Saffy is determined to make this party a success! Festive decorating, a beautiful Christmas tree, holiday perfection…. and snow, snow, and more snow….

This book was packed full of delightful characters….Saffy was such a fun character with a big heart, Logan was just a good guy, and Chloe was adorable quite often stealing the scene!Saffy’s neighbors Robbie and Dunkin added some humor and drama to this fantastic story…. i became so invested in the lives of these characters throughout this book, I sure am hoping there is a follow up….

A wonderful holiday Reid that will leave you feeling merry and bright… absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys a festive story filled with wonderful characters that will leave you feeling warm all over…

*** many thanks to Bookouture for my copy of this book ***

About the Book

Snowy rooftops, mulled wine, and a hot single dad. Not the Christmas Saffy wished for… but maybe the one she needs?

Twenty-nine-year-old Saffron Baxterknew her fun holiday plans didn’t stand a chance the moment her sister called to say she was stuck abroad with no hope of being home before Christmas. Saffy would just have to abandon thoughts of wild festive parties in the city and head down to remote Cornwall.

Because every year her sister hosts a huge Christmas meal for all the single parents in her village. And Saffy knows it’d break her heart to let them down.

Arriving as snow starts to fall over the thatched cottages of the little harbour town of Port Breok, she meets Logan – the tall, fair-haired, blue-eyed, devoted single dad who lives over the road, with his adorable daughter Chloe. At first she thinks he might help her make Christmas Day extra-memorable, but he just seems convinced she’ll never manage – that she’s just a party girl who doesn’t care about family, or anyone’s feelings. Maybe he’s right. After all – she doesn’t want to settle down, she’s only there for a few days… But she’s still determined to do her sister proud with gorgeous decorations, the most beautiful real tree – complete with extra twinkly lights, and delicious mince pies. To make it a Christmas everyone will remember, especially little Chloe. Even if, when the mistletoe comes down, she knows she’ll probably never see Logan again…

The perfect festive romance novel, ideal for fans of Nora Roberts, Jenny Hale and Debbie Macomber.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!🎄 berit❄️✨

Christmas Spirit by Nicola May @nicolamay1 @rararesources #bookreview #giveaway

Happy hump day!

Delighted to share with you today my review for this festive short story! Many thanks to Rachel for my invitation to the tour and two Nicola May for her wonderful words!🎁

Christmas Spirit

coverIt’s two days before Christmas – and Evie Harris finds herself both manless and jobless. After a chance encounter with handsome Greg (and egged on by her toy-boy-eating friend, Bea) she agrees to work at a homeless shelter on Christmas Day.
Striking up an unlikely friendship with homeless Yves, Evie begins an unwitting journey of spiritual awakening, all set against the sparkling winter backdrop of London landmarks.

A New Year’s Eve revelation is on its way . . . but will it leave Evie with a happy heart, or will she allow the pre-Christmas past to dictate her future?

My Thoughts

A charming and festive Reid, a powerful story in a little package! 🎁

This was a suite short story all about the magic of Christmas… a story filled with peace, hope, and strength… a lovely story about finding wisdom and tranquility where you least expect it…

Evie goes out with her BFF Bea, for a night of drinking and forgetting… forgetting that she just broke up with her boyfriend a few days before Christmas… while out she meets the handsome Gary with a heart shaped birthmark…. with some arm twisting from Gary and Bea, Evie is convinced to volunteer at a soup kitchen on Christmas Day… while at the soup kitchen she meets Yve and that’s when all the magic begins…. there is something very special about Yve, is he Evie’s very own guardian angel?

Such a beautiful story sprinkled with so much magic and love! I absolutely loved the message of this book… and yes the romance moves quickly, but it had two they’re only 58 pages… I have to say there’s quite a bit packed into this short book… I love the message, I love the lessons, I loved the watercolors, I love the poetry, I love the characters, I love the setting…. my favorite part though was the magical twist at the very end!

A holly Jolly story that will put you in the holiday mood and fill your heart with hope❤️💚❤️

What Happened to Us? by Faith Hogan @GerHogan @Aria_Fiction #bookreview

Happy Sunday! Did you remember to fall back??? We had a time change overnight in the US, so I got an extra hour!

Delighted to share with you today my review for this charming story many thanks to faith Hogan for reaching out and inviting me on her blog tour! 💕

9781788548588Carrie Nolan is devastated when she is dumped by Kevin Mulvey after more than a decade without even a backwards glance! On reflection, she has sacrificed her own long term happiness establishing their critically acclaimed Dublin restaurant and pandering to his excessive ego.

Meanwhile Kevin can’t believe his luck. Valentina, their new waitress is a stunner, the kind of girl that turns heads when she walks in a room and surprise, surprise she has chosen him! He is living the dream!

Carrie seeks solace from a circle of mismatched friends who need her as much as she needs them. Jane, who struggles to run the pub on the opposite side of the street, Luke, who has stopped drifting while his father settles in a nearby nursing home and Teddy, a dog who asks for nothing more than the chance to stay by Carrie’s side.

With Christmas just around the corner, all is not quite as it seems and a catastrophic sequence of events leads to the unthinkable…

How far do you need to fall before you learn the true value of family and friends? And is it ever too late to start again…

My Thoughts

This was a delightful heartwarming story, comfort food for the mind!!!

Carrie is being added to my book BFF list! Loved her! She was such a wonderful character, who was going through such a terrible time, and she handled it like a champ! I loved riding the roller coaster of emotion with her throughout this book… I cried with her… I raged with her… I laughed with her… I smiled with her… Love reading a story that completely sucks you into the character’s life…

Carrie is devastated when her longtime boyfriend Kevin breaks up with her… even more devastating Kevin is also her business partner and his new girlfriend Valentina works at the restaurant that he and Carrie co-own… it sure was fun hating on Kevin and Valentina throughout this book, and they sure made it easy! Soon after the break up carry realized how much time she had spent not only taking care of Kevin but his high maintenance mother as well…. Carrie also made several new friends including: Jane an elderly lady, Luke a handsome potential love interest, and Teddy an adorable dog… I absolutely loved the bond that all these characters formed with one another, they were so there for each other… and for those of you who believe in karma, as carrie’s life was getting better and better, Kevin began to realize how much he needed her! Kevin my friend Karma is a bioch!

Such a charming story of new beginnings and second chances with a bit of a festive feel! As Christmas approaches there are some strange goings-on in the restaurant… there is also a question of romance between carry and Luke? Will these two find their way under the mistletoe? I strongly encourage you to pick this book up and find out for yourself! It is such a treat, a little escape that will give you hope!

Promise Me by Jade Beer @JadeBRIDES @bookouture #bookreview

Trick or Treat!👻🎃

This is probably not the most appropriate book to post on Halloween, but it is a story sure to make you scream! With delight! Much more of a treat then a trick, this book is as sweet as Halloween candy!🙄

Many thanks to Kim for my invitation and to Jade Beer for her lovely words!🧡🖤

Promise-Me-KindleIf you could wish one thing for your daughter, what would it be?

Jenny lost her beloved mother as a teenager, and was left devastated. As a parting gift she left her daughter a bundle of letters, one for each significant day of Jenny’s future. First date, first broken heart, graduation day… and one for the day Jenny meets the love of her life.

Her mother’s letters are everything to her, but how can Jenny ever become the confident, successful woman her mother wanted her to be when her heart is broken by her loss? When an unexpected meeting has Jenny mistaken for somebody she’s not, Jenny learns that sometimes pretending is the easiest way to tell the truth and that loving someone can mean letting them go…

An absolutely unforgettable book club read that will break your heart. If you love Jojo Moyes, Cecelia Ahern and Nancy Thayer you will love this unputdownable page-turner.

My Thoughts

A festive and beautiful story filled with wedding bells and Christmas trees….

I absolutely loved Jade Beer’s first novel “The Almost Wife”…. so I was so delighted to see that this book featured some of the characters I had grown to adore in that book, Helen the owner of the wedding boutique and her daughter Betsy… Helen was an absolute stand out in the previous book, and she definitely did not disappoint in this one! She is The mother everyone deserves, and the mother who is not completely appreciated by her own daughter….

The blurb for this book is a bit missleading, the focus is not solely on Jenny but also on Helen, her daughter Betsy, and Nat… all these women bring something wonderful and different to the story… Helen brings her heart, Jenny brings her vulnerability, Betsy brings her confusion, and Nat brings her sass…. and what we get is a lovely and engaging read filled with romance, friendship, and laughter! You will cry for these girls… you will laugh with these girls… you will roll your eyes at these girls… you will want to reach through the pages and hug these girls… and by the end of this book you will adore each and every one of them!

Jade Beer paints this delightful story about women for women…. what I love so much is on the surface this appears to be about weddings, wedding dresses, wedding drama, etc. etc. etc. but at its heart this book is about women and how strong they are, and how smart they are, and how amazing the bond is between them…. just like a woman this book is pretty and soft on the outside, but on the inside it is fierce! A ferocious story in a fluffy package!

Absolutely recommend to anyone who is a fan of women’s fiction, this is an author not to miss!

Jade Beer author photoAbout me by Jade Beer:

Hello!
I’m Jade. I’m a novelist, mother to two young daughters and the editor of Conde Nast Brides.

I love writing about women and all the challenges we face in our daily lives. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some incredibly talented women throughout my career as a journalist and editor – ones who juggle the most all-encompassing careers with family and friendships and everything else that life throws at them. They often make it look so easy. But we all know it’s not. And that need to present one version of yourself to the world, while keeping the grittier, less polished reality under wraps, is a thread that runs strongly through my debut novel, The Almost Wife.

In my day job as the editor of Conde Nast Brides, I share my working life with editors of some of the glossiest, luxury brands in the world – Vogue, Tatler, Glamour – and I have the enormous priviledge of travelling the world and sitting front row at beautiful fashion shows and working with the world’s leading florists, cake makers and stylists. But I also take a daily peek into the lives of young women who are engulfed in one of the most exciting times of their lives – planning their wedding days. This, above everything else, is the really fun bit. Being on the front line if you like. Hearing their thoughts, fears, worries and ambitions for the future. This really powerful cocktail of glamour and reality dances across every page of The Almost Wife and is currently being poured into my second novel which is due out in October this year.

I’m not sure I could have written The Almost Wife without making it personal too, feeding some of my own quiet fears into the mix. I’ve sat in important meetings, dropping huge clangers that years later still make me cringe. I’ve got more than my fair share of self-doubt and suffer like many other women from the dreaded imposter syndrome. I worry constantly about my family. How much time I have left with them. Am I doing any of it right? Will I be riddled with regret in later years? Will my daughters be critical of the choices I made? Am I failing the people I love the most?

Although work places me full time in London, my heart is in the countryside where I live with my husband and our two daughters. The Cotswolds is where my husband and I used to spend romantic weekends plotting our future together long before children came along and is now where I watch them both run free, hoping I will keep them close for many years to come.

Have a spectacular day! Berit☀️✨

A Christmas Date

No one wants to be single at the holidays.

Even Little Miss Grinch, Nikki, a successful and independent woman, must face her bachelorette status at the most horrible time of the year.

December is her personal version of holly-jolly hell: a merry torture made of couples kissing at every corner, forced vacation days, and an inescapable family reunion.

And when her baby sister announces she’s engaged—to Paul, the man Nikki is secretly in love with—and that he’s spending the holidays with them, Christmas starts looking bluer than ever.

Nikki can’t possibly survive an entire week trapped home as the family’s spinster. But she has no time to meet men or to try the newest dating app, she’s too busy working as a video producer for an advertising agency.

So what’s a girl to do?

Nikki has the perfect solution: to hire a fake boyfriend.

Luckily, her job gives her access to an endless catalog of gorgeous actors to choose from.

But Nikki will soon discover that keeping business and pleasure from mixing isn’t so easy, and that she might not be immune to a little mistletoe magic. Especially not when she picked out the perfect man as her Christmas date…

A fun, festive romantic comedy with lots of bad behavior and Christmas spirit. Like a creamy hot chocolate with marshmallows, you won’t want to put this deliciously hilarious novel down. Perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Sally Thorne, and Jo Watson.

First Comes Love is a series of interconnected romantic novels. However, each book in the series can be read as a standalone.

My Thoughts

I absolutely adored and loved every single word in this book!

If you could see me you would see that I have a BIG smile on my face, I have found me another wonderful author! I love a book that completely engages you and captures your heart! The storyline in this book was not original, in fact it has been done many times before and the author even mentions that in the book… but these characters were so electric, they completely drew me in!

Nikki is not in the holiday mood, in fact she wouldn’t mind skipping the entire month of December… when she finds out her sister is bringing her new fiancé to Christmas she goes into full Scrooge mode… The worst part her sister’s fiancé Paul, a man she’s had a crush on since college…. determined not to go home for Christmas single and with no time to find a date Nikki decides to hire a date…. as I said this is a popular trope that has been done before, but I have to admit it is one of my favorites!

Nikki is a fantastic character I loved her, I mean what’s not to love the girl is a cat lover! She is also smart and sassy…. I adored her relationship with her BFF Blair… but most of all I loved the banter and chemistry between Nicky and hired date Diego…. Diego was such a good guy, down-to-earth and genuine, the kind of guy you would want to take home to your parents… not to mention he was tall, dark, and handsome… The perfect go to parade in front of your sister, I make her a little bit jealous…. add in some family drama, Christmas festivities, gluten-free food, adorable animals, and you have got yourself one wonderful story!

Absolutely recommend, this is one of the best Christmas romances I have Red this season!

The Christmas Wish by Tilly Tennant @TillyTenWriteer @bookouture #bookreview

Happy Tuesday book friends!

Today I have another charming Christmas book for you, this time the book takes you to Lapland and the sight of the beautiful Aurora Borealis! A huge thank you to Noelle for my invitation and to Tilly Tennant for this delightful story❄️

The-Christmas-Wish-Kindle

Christmas is coming but it doesn’t feel that way for Esme. Jilted by her cheating fiancée Warren and mourning the death of her beloved grandmother she’s determined not to let life beat her and books a trip to Lapland, on a holiday that her grandmother had always dreamed of taking.

Beneath the indigo skies of Lapland, love is the last thing on Esme’s mind but she can’t ignore a spark with Zach, a broodingly handsome actor, also nursing a broken heart. But when Esme is bombarded by messages from Warren promising he’s changed and she discovers that Zach is hiding something-will her head be turned? And when a trip to the northern lights reveals the full extent Zach’s own secret past is there any hope that Esme will get the happy ending that her grandmother wished for her?

My Thoughts

Star light, star bright, where the hell is Mr. Right?💫

This was a charming story filled with all the wonders of winter… this however was not a book filled with fluff, it took on some serious subject matter that added another dimension to the story… it also takes you to Lapland and The spectacular beauty of the Northern Lights… now I’ve never considered vacationing in a cold climate, but these lights are quite alluring…. I truly had no idea they were so colorful, I don’t know what I thought, But now I get the draw!

Esme has just left her lying cheating boyfriend and return home to live with her grandmother…. grandmother spoils her with the comforts of home and food and the two of them begin to fantasize about a trip to Lapland… but when Grandma is no longer able to go and Esme gets back with the lying boyfriend Warren, the trip might no longer happen… but when Esme realizes that lying is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Warren he is also manipulative and controlling, she begins to think that a solo trip might not be such a bad idea after all…. what I really liked about the travel company is that they introduced people traveling alone to one another, and so Esme met an eclectic crew of characters including Zack….

This book really picked up for me when they got to Lapland, I loved every single minute of that adventure… Esme really blossomed as a character when out of the clutches of Warren… there must be something so liberating about traveling alone, I’ve never done it, but I could see where it would just give you a confidence boost…. and it wouldn’t hurt if there was a handsome Zack on the trip as well… I really liked the relationship between these two it developed sweetly and slowly…. there was also a lot of will they? Won’t they? Zack has a secret and Esme has evil Warren…

This really is a heartwarming winter Romance with just a tiny dash of Christmas…. recommend to anyone who enjoys a nice sweet romance with some likable characters and a beautiful setting….

Tilly Tennant was born in Dorset, the oldest of four children, but now lives in Staffordshire with a family of her own. After years of dismal and disastrous jobs, including paper plate stacking, shop girl, newspaper promotions and waitressing (she never could carry a bowl of soup without spilling a bit), she decided to indulge her passion for the written word by embarking on a degree in English and creative writing. She wrote a novel in 2007 during her first summer break at university and has not stopped writing since. She also works as a freelance fiction editor, and considers herself very lucky that this enables her to read many wonderful books before the rest of the world gets them.

Hopelessly Devoted to Holden Finn was her debut novel; published in 2014 it was an Amazon bestseller in both the UK and Australia. In 2016 she signed to the hugely successful Bookouture and is currently working on her next Tilly Tennant novel. She also writes as Sharon Sant, where she explores the darker side of life, and Poppy Galbraith, where things get a little crazier.

Christmas at The Little Duck Pond Cafe by Rosie Green @Rosie_Green1988 @rararesources #bookreview

Happy Friday book friends!

I have another charming Christmas story to share with you today! A huge thank you to Rachel for my invitation to the tour and to Rosie Green for her lovely words!🛷

Christmas at the Little Duck Pond Cafe

CATLDPC_FRONT RGB150dpiFen has always hated being the centre of attention.
She loves her new job, working behind the scenes at the Little Duck Pond Cafe and baking the scrumptious cakes that have helped its reputation soar. But frankly, she’d rather scrub the public toilet floor with a toothbrush than have to come out and talk to the customers.
She’s always been happy to stay in the background as long as she has a good supply of books to escape into. That’s her kind of romance – the fictional sort where she can read about other people taking a chance on love, but she doesn’t have to risk her own heart.
But that was before Ethan Fox arrived in the village and turned her world upside down. Ethan is a leading light in the local amateur dramatics theatre company and Fen knows he’s way out of her league.
But when the popular village Christmas pantomime hits a crisis, Fen and Ethan find themselves thrown together. Can Fen overcome her shyness and find the courage to step on stage and save the day?

My Thoughts

A short but sweet love story that is sure to make you smile!

I was so excited to go back to the Little Duck Pond Café and catch up with Fen, Jaz, and Ellie… I truly love the essential part the friendship between these three ladies plays in this series…. every time I finish one of these books I want to visit this café, have some yummy goodies, and a long girl bonding session with these ladies! This book can be read as a standalone, but why would you want to? The more time spent with these characters the better!

This time we get sweet introverted Fen’s story…Fen is the genius behind all the yummy treats at the café, she is also painfully shy and quite the bookworm… she has a major crush on Ethan Fox, and after he invites her to join his actors group she starts swooning uncontrollably…. I got a kick out of the fact that most of Fen’s romantic experience came from Books…. something would happen and then she would reference a book and compare the two situations, it was quite innocent…. although made me think what unrealistic expectations I would have if I were to compare romantic situations in real life to books!😉

I really adore Fen and really wanted her to find her HEA! Although I wasn’t convinced Ethan was the best choice for her, I thought there was a much more suitable choice…. so does Fen follow her heart? Or does her heart have a change of mind?

Along with the girls friendship and a blossoming romance we also had the perfect amount of holiday cheer… Christmas treats, decorating, Christmas shopping, snowmaking machine shopping, and The planning of a Snow Ball❄️ so grab yourself that hot chocolate, cuddle up in a warm blanket, and settle in for an afternoon of escaping with these delightful characters!

Rosie Green Author PicAuthor Bio

Rosie Green has been scribbling stories ever since she was little. Back then they were rip-roaring adventure tales with a young heroine in perilous danger of falling off a cliff or being tied up by ‘the baddies’. Thankfully, Rosie has moved on somewhat, and now much prefers to write romantic comedies that melt your heart and make you smile, with really not much perilous danger involved at all, unless you count the heroine losing her heart in love.

Rosie’s brand new series of novellas is centred on life in a village café. The first two stories in the series are: Spring at The Little Duck Pond Cafe and Summer at The Little Duck Pond Café.
