A Typical Family Christmas by Liz Davies @lizdaviesauthor @rararesources #coverreveal #atypicalfamilychristmas

Happy happy weekend!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! 103 days until the big guy comes with his sack full of gifts!🎅🏻🤶

A Typical Family Christmas

For once, Kate Peters would like a happy, family Christmas; the kind of Christmas seen in the movies. She wants harmony and happiness, smiling, glowing faces, tables groaning with food, carol singing around the tree. She wants love, kindness, and goodwill to all men, especially in
her own house.

What she doesn’t want is drama. Absolutely no drama, whatsoever.

But what she gets is three stroppy children, two equally stroppy grandmothers, a husband who can’t manage to change a lightbulb, and Pepe the poodle.

It’s no wonder she feels unappreciated, overworked, and ignored. At the end of her tinsel-coated tether, and with the only Christmas spirit being in the form of a bottle of raspberry gin, Kate decides to leave them to it, and see how they manage without her.

A quiet little hotel somewhere near the sea, where she can pretend Christmas doesn’t exist, is just the thing she needs. Isn’t it?

Coming Home to Merrimont Bay by Emily Harvale @emilyharvale @rararesources #coverreveal #cominghomemerrimontbay

Happy Tuesday all!

Super excited to share the cover for a new series from one of my favorite authors! Cannot wait to read this!

Coming Home to Merriment Bay

A heartwarming four-part serial about family, friendship, and finding the strength to put the past behind you and step into a bright, new future filled with love and laughter.

After eighteen years apart, reclusive Cat Devon still recognises her mum’s handwriting. Plucking up the courage to open the letter, its contents send Cat and her teenage daughter, Kyra racing to Merriment Bay, the seaside village where Cat grew up.

But Cat is shocked to find the situation is worse than expected. Despite everything, Cat considers herself to be an optimist at heart and Kyra takes after her. Looking on the bright side may not improve things, but it definitely can’t make them worse.

Clearing out the house that, even now, Cat fondly thinks of as home, she stumbles upon more than just memories in the battered leather trunk in Granny Viola’s bedroom. She discovers a faded photo of an RAF pilot, a pile of unopened letters, and a mystery waiting to be solved.

Who is the man in the – clearly treasured – photo? Cat and Kyra are intent on finding out. But that’s not all Cat’s determined to do. It’s time she came to terms with her past and made peace with her mum and her gran. All the while avoiding bumping into the one man she never quite got over … and keeping a few secrets of her own.

This is Part One of a new, four-part serial. The other three parts are:
Coming Home to Merriment Bay – Part Two: Sparks Fly
Coming Home to Merriment Bay – Part Three: Christmas
Coming Home to Merriment Bay – Part Four: Starry Skies
This is the start of Emily Harvale’s Merriment Bay series which is interconnected to her Wyntersleap series. Each series can be read alone, but several characters appear in both series.

One Week ‘til Christmas by Belinda Missen @belinda_missen @rararesources #coverreveal #oneweektilchristmas

Happy Monday!

108 days until Christmas! Are you ready for it? I am certainly not, but I am ready for the festive reading season!🎄❄️

One Week ‘til Christmas

Two people. One chance meeting. Seven days to Christmas.

Isobel Bennett is waiting for the number 11 bus when a man quite literally falls into her lap. Snow is falling, Christmas lights are twinkling, and a gorgeous man with dark brown hair has just slipped on ice and is now pressed against Isobel.

Isobel knows she’s not imagining the chemistry between them. But then his ride arrives and, embarrassed, he beats a hasty retreat, murmuring apologies – and Isobel realises only too late that she didn’t manage to catch his name…

When she runs into him again the next morning, she decides it’s fate.

It’s a second chance for Isobel and Tom – but there’s only one week until she’s leaving London for good. Seven days of enjoying all the festive delights the city has to offer: ice-skating at Somerset House, mulled wine on the Southbank, Christmas shopping at Liberty.

There’s magic in the air and mistletoe in the trees – but what will happen when the week is over?

For fans of Josie Silver, Lucy Diamond and Marian Keyes, this is one Christmas romance you don’t want to miss!

The Los Hope by Krista and Becca Ritchie @kbritchie @wednesdaybooks @stmartinspress #bookreview #thelasthope

Happy hump day all!

Loved this book! The perfect blend of sci-fi and romance, just pure entertainment! Thank you so much to Megan for the invitation to the tour!🛸

My Thoughts

Krista and Becca Ritchie have masterfully blended sci-fi and romance in this book, the second installment of this entertaining duology. All the feels in outer space. This is a duology and the first book “The Raging Ones” should definitely be read first. The focus of this book is on the beloved trio from the first book Franny, Court, and Mykal. Imprisoned on an enemy starship with their “last hope” being a baby. There are also some new characters that added a bit of a splash, but honestly I enjoyed my time spent with the trio.

I don’t generally read sci-fi but this was a lot of fun! There was just the perfect amount of world building to keep it interesting, but I was never confused or overwhelmed with it. The characters were all well-developed, engaging, and likable (well most of them). The story was swiftly and perfectly paste, never a dull moment. The Romance was sweet and satisfying. This book was out of my comfort zone, out of this world, and showed me the stars. I’m really looking forward to what this writing duo has in store for us next.

*** thanks Wednesday Books/St Martin’s press for my copy of this book ***

About the Book

BLOG TOUR BOOK INFO

ABOUT THE BOOK:

A stunning conclusion to the sci-fi romance duology by writing duo Krista & Becca Ritchie, The Last Hope is filled with twists and turns you’ll never see coming.

Sacrifice all you have to survive.

Imprisoned for weeks on an enemy starcraft, Franny, Court, and Mykal have sat with an unfathomable revelation. But as they fight to stay alive, escaping prison means trusting a young mysterious stranger. He knows everything about their lost histories, and when answers aren’t given freely, the bonded trio are forced to join a mission. One that will determine the fate of humanity.

Legend says, a baby—the first of her species—has the power to cloak and teleport planets. Tasked with retrieving the infant, Court fears the baby is just a myth, and if they fail, they’ll never find the truth about their origins.

As Court and Mykal grow closer, their linked bond becomes harder to hide, and dynamics change when Franny begins to fall for someone new. Vulnerable and with no choice, the hunt for the baby sends the trio on a dangerous path to Saltare-1: a water world where their enemies can’t die and survival comes at a high cost.

Happy Friday y’all!

I want to apologize to my blogging buddies I have not been as active as usual, but I am hoping to remedy that next week! Today I have a review for a little book with a BIG punch!🧨

My Thoughts Well HOT damn there was a lot packed into this little firecracker of a story. 180 Pages packed with tension, miss direction, and suspense. Sarah is not only struggling with her empty nest but she is also convinced that her husband is cheating on her. One day while in the park innocently sitting on a bench reading a book she meets her kindred spirit in Lawrence. BUT then a woman goes missing a woman who was in the park at the very same time as Sarah, and now Sarah is the prime suspect. What follows is a wild story filled with twists and turns and misdirection and things i never saw coming. Sarah’s world is turned upside down and everyone she trusted seems to have turned against her. This book had me second-guessing everything and trusting nobody. What happened that day in the park and where is the woman?

*** thank you to the publisher for my copy of this book, releases August 27 ***

About the Book

When Manhattanite Sarah Rock meets a mysterious and handsome stranger in the park, she is drawn to him. Sarah wants to get away from her daily routine, her cheating husband and his crazy mistress, her frequent sessions with her heartless therapist, and her moody children.

But nothing is as it seems. Her life begins to unravel when a woman from the park goes missing and Sarah becomes the prime suspect in the woman’s disappearance. Her lover is nowhere to be found, her husband is suspicious of her, and her therapist is talking to the police.

With no one to trust, Sarah must face her inner demons and uncover the truth to prove her innocence.

A thriller that questions what is real-with its shocking twists, secrets, and lies—The Woman in the Park will leave readers breathless.

The Summer of Going Topless by Liz Davies @lizdaviesauthor @rararesources #coverreveal

The Summer of Going Topless

Candice Summerville is invisible. No one seems to notice her – not really. Heck, she often doesn’t notice herself, except for her monthly scrutiny in the mirror to check on her body’s steady slide towards middle age.

But when her ancient, practical estate car is consigned to the scrap heap, Candice falls in love with a cute, purple convertible, and from that moment on her life begins to take on a whole new meaning. Strangers wave at her and people stop to talk, and suddenly she isn’t invisible any longer.

Life seems to be looking up, especially when she meets silver fox and handy-man, Paul. There’s just one fly in the ointment, one thing she that has her second-guessing herself.

Is it the car that Paul sees – or is it her?

False Step by Victoria Helen Stone @VictoriaDahl @amazonpub @luauthors @tlcbooktours #bookreview #falsestep

Happy Monday all!

Did you miss me? Did you even notice I was gone? I took a mini blog break over the weekend and I am feeling refreshed! Excited to share with you today my review for this entertaining fast-paced story that made me grateful that I am not married! Thank you so much Lisa for my invitation to this tour!🖤

My Thoughts

ᴇɴᴛᴇʀᴛᴀɪɴɪɴɢ. ᴀᴅᴅɪᴄᴛɪᴠᴇ. ғᴀsᴛ-ᴘᴀᴄᴇᴅ.

Victoria Helen Stone has crafted an entertaining fast-paced Addictive story. Johnny and Veronica were college sweethearts the perfect couple. BUT as all avid thriller Readers know… no couple is perfect and this one wasn’t even close! So many secrets, so many lies, all that threaten to come out when Johnny earns hero status after rescuing a young boy. SO even though Johnny’s newfound status leads to an increase in Business for his personal training, it also puts this family in a vulnerable position. What happens when you can’t hide from the truth anymore? When all it takes is one falls step? And all the lies and secrets will come crumbling down?

Where to start with this one? Well first off I disliked all the major characters in this book. None of them had many if any redeeming qualities and they all had a lot to hide. I did however have compassion for Johnny and Veronica’s 11-year-old daughter Sydney, the poor girl was caught in the crossfire of all this nonsense. I also had a lot of sympathy for Veronica‘s mother, sister and her sisters wife. Innocent bystanders… I seriously do not think Johnny or Veronica considered how any of their actions impacted anyone but themselves? At times I have to admit this did get frustrating and a little tiring, but then something would happen and I was just hooked! Miss Stone definitely has an addictive writing style that kept me engaged the entire time. I figured out the who and the Y pretty early I just didn’t completely no the how. However this did not detract from the story at all, because at the end I was seriously on the edge of my seat just waiting to see how this all was going to play out! Sometimes it’s not all about the twist, it is about the getting there! If you’re looking for a quick absorbing thriller then this is the book!

*** Big thanks to Lake Union for my gifted copy of this book ***
