Happy weekend booklovers!

Do you like small-town cozy comfort reads with charming characters? If the answer to this question is yes, then you really need to pick up this series from Emily Harvale! 🦋

A Wedding at Wynter House
Wyntersleap series – Book 3
Not everyone at Wynter House is thrilled about this wedding.

Secrets have been revealed and new relationships begun. Now it’s time to look to the future. Neva and Rafe are in love and so are Adam and Hazel. Jo’s love life leaves a lot to be desired, although Gavin could remedy that.

But Rafe’s grandmother, Olivia still hopes that something will tear Rafe and Neva apart. Hazel’s new assignment means nursing someone back to health … and there’s history between them. And Jo’s receiving texts from her ex-fiancé.

Then Rafe’s first wife, Pippa – the woman who broke his heart, unexpectedly arrives. And she’s even more beautiful and irresistible than Rafe remembers.

When everyone is looking to the future, will the past prove to be too strong?

There will be a wedding at Wynter House … but who will be the bride and groom?

My Thoughts

Love this series… please tell me this is not the last book! Emily Harvale has created such a cozy vibe with this delightful series. This series is interlocked with the Merriment Bay series with many characters crossing over into both. I read the latest books from both Series back to back and I think that really enhanced my overall enjoyment. Emily does a good job of recapping previous books in the series, but I do believe the stories are best enjoyed if you read all the books in the series. Additionally you’re going to want to read them all, these are charming stories packed with fabulous characters and an enchanting setting.

This story focuses on Neva and Rafe, Who got together in the previous book. Their relationship is going swimmingly until Rafe’s ex Pippa shows up. I think the storyline I enjoyed most in the book was Jo, Neva’s bestie. I liked her blooming relationship with Ed, and this is why I need another book in the series I need to know what happens between them. A misunderstanding, a break up, an Epiphany, an engagement, a wedding, new love, fish and chips, and Gin. Love spending time with these characters. Reading an Emily Harvale book is like spending time with good friends.

Finding Love at Hedgehog Hollow by Jessica Redland **Book Review** @rararesources 🦔

Happy Thursday all!

This was such a great story! Filled with so much charm, compassion, hope and heart. Oh and of course hedgehogs 🦔

Finding Love at Hedgehog Hollow

Can love really be found when you stop looking for it…?

As Samantha Wishaw watches the love of her life marry another woman, she’s ready to give up hope of finding her happy ever after.

But when a chance encounter leads Sam to find friendship in Thomas – a lonely, grumpy elderly widower living at derelict Hedgehog Hollow – her life is about to change forever.

Glad to have a distraction from family feuds and match-making, Sam vows to fulfill Thomas and his wife, Gwendoline’s, dreams of restoring Hedgehog Hollow to its former glory, and to open a hedgehog rescue centre.

Throwing herself into the task at hand, little does Sam realise that the keys to love and happiness may also be found at Hedgehog Hollow, when she least expects it…

Escape to Hedgehog Hollow this summer with top 10 bestseller Jessica Redland for the perfect uplifting, feel-good read.

My Thoughts

magical tale! Jessica Redland has spun A beautiful story packed with charm, compassion, hope and heart. Oh and I mustn’t forget all the lovely hedgehogs. The book kicks off with Samantha attending the wedding of her cousin chloe to The man that Sam thought she was going to marry. Rough, right? To pour even more salt in the wound cousin Chloe sends Sam on a wild goose chase to pick up a plant that she left at home that absolutely MUST make it to the wedding reception. Sam gets all kinds of lost on the way back to the wedding reception and when she gets there she finds out the plant is for an aunt that absolutely cannot stand her. Then this Aunt gets all rude, and then Chloe has the nerve to get mad at Sam when Chloe is married the guy Sam was dating first. Talk about a bad day… but wait it gets worse, to top it all off Sam’s mother *a true witch* finds it necessary to throw even more unkind words at her daughter. Ugh! The silver lining to this very dark cloud is that when Sam was all kinds of lost she ran across a farm called Hedgehog Hollow where she pretty much save the life of the owner Thomas. A beautiful friendship develops between Tomas and Ssam even though Thomas is reluctant in the beginning. This begins Sam’s passion for the hedgehogs and turns her life around. Even though this sounds like sad start, there is so much more to this amazing story.

Sam was such a wonderful character, so kind, so caring, so unselfish. I really did not understand why so many of her family members treated her so poorly, especially her mother? I really did like her dad, but I could not understand why he did not stand up to his wife, tell her that she needed to treat their daughter better? Seriously all of the interactions between Sam and her mother were so painful. That’s why I think the relationship between Thomas and Sam, and then ultimately the hedgehogs was so special. There were also several other Great supportive people in Sam’s life throughout the story. There was also a love interest, a sweet and touching romance. This was truly a gorgeous story of hope, sprinkled with some sweet magic.

Summer Strawberries on Swallowtail Bay by Katie Ginger **Book Review** @rararesources

Hello my lovely book friends!

Excited to share my review with you today for this sweet summer romance that will put a huge smile on your face!🍓

Summer Strawberries at Swallowtail Bay

Grab your strawberries and cream and get ready to return to the beautiful Swallowtail Bay!

Summer is in full swing and the locals are getting excited for the launch of the Swallowtail Bay strawberry food festival. But will all run smoothly when festival organiser Hetty’s heart is torn between lord of the manor John Thornhill and successful bakery owner Ben?

My Thoughts

A sweet and scrumptious romance. Katie Ginger has written a charming story packed with delightful characters. Hetty is a lively event planner determined to revamp Swallowtail Bay’s annual strawberry festival. Part of the event planning involves her trying to convince be somewhat reclusive John Thornhill to allow the event to be held on his property. What follows is a sweet story with some complications. I loved watching Hetty and John‘s relationship bloom. It was so fun watching them plan the strawberry festival. I wanted to be right there with them, especially when it came to the food tasting. Hetty was such a fun vivacious character her bubbly personality and energy dripped from the pages. John really was her perfect match. The blurb made me think there was going to be more of a love triangle, but I was very grateful there really wasn’t. So grab your beach towel, your sunscreen, settle in on that lounge chair and relax with this book. And don’t forget the strawberries!

Sweet Pea Summer by Ally’s Murray **Book Review** @bookouture

Happy hump day book friends!

Damn I am such a sucker for a second chance romance! This book just gave me all the feels! I just loved it so so much!💕

My Thoughts

A charming small town second chance summertime romance. Alys Murray tugged on my heartstrings with her delightful storytelling. Nothing like a second chance romance to hit me in the feels. May and Tom were high school sweethearts with dreams of traveling the world and being together forever. The night after graduation Tom packed up his truck with all his worldly goods and May tells him she cannot join him. It is years later and Tom is back in town, but the small town is unforgiving. You see May pretty much let everyone think that Tom had left her rather than her calling things off. So when Tom and May are thrown together to plan the town’s festival everyone is quick to defend May’s honor. But the spark between Tom and May is still there, strong and undeniable. So will May be able to forgive herself and finally go after the boy she’s always loved? *sigh*

Loved every minute I spent reading this adorable story. May and Tom were just too perfect together my heart was aching for them to get back together. I loved the small town and the family dynamics in the story. I wasn’t always quite sure why everyone was so upset with Tom supposedly ending things with May when he was 18? And I really didn’t understand why May just didn’t fess up? But I’ve never lived in a small town. Such a sweet heartwarming story that made me all gooey inside. Cannot wait for the next book in this fun flowery series.

About the Book

Can you ever really forget your first love?

It’s been eight long years since May Anderson’s high school sweetheart Tom Riley drove down Main Street in his truck, leaving Hillsboro—and May—in his rearview mirror. Now he’s back and, try as they might, the pair can’t avoid each other.

As Hillsboro prepares to host the prestigious North West Food and Wine Festival, Tom and May are reluctantly called in to plan the big event. Tom needs May’s help to repair his bad-boy reputation and, with the whole town counting on them, May and Tom need to learn to trust each other again.

May is determined to protect her heart, but a lot has changed since high school. She can’t help but notice how the skinny boy she used to know is now a man who perfectly fills out his button-down, and Tom can’t seem to tear his gaze away from May’s sweet smile. It’s clear old feelings are surfacing again, but there is a secret keeping them apart and, until they find the courage to face it, their second chance summer will be only that…

A heartwarming story about first love, family and the importance of second chances. Fans of Jenny Hale, Debbie Macomber and Robyn Carr will adore Sweet Pea Summer.

The Summer House by Lauren K. Denton **Book Review** @tlcbooktours @thomasnelson

Happy Monday all!

These last couple weeks have been rough and heartbreaking and I’ve been very distracted. It was really nice to be able to escape into this delightful book full of kind characters and so much hope and heart.

My Thoughts

What a delightful unexpected gem! Lauren K. Denton has Spohn such a delightful feel good tale that warmed my heart and made me smile. It has been a rough heartbreaking emotional week and I’ve been so distracted. It was so nice to find a gorgeous story filled with kind characters to escape into. Lily has just moved from Atlanta to the Alabama Gulf when her husband up and leaves her. New to town and knowing nobody Lily finds herself in need of a job and a new place to live. While at the grocery store she runs across two older ladies and finds out there is a need for a hairdresser at their active living community. Rose is the owner and manager at the active living community on Safe Harbor. Rose is a little prickly, but when Lily interviews for the hairdressing job she has compassion for the girl. Lily now finds herself with a new job and living in a community where most of the residents are four decades older than her.

Loved every minute I spend with these charming characters. Loved the hairdresser setting, these characters were just like me and spilled all their secrets while sitting in that chair. Both Lily and Rose were wonderful characters and I love the friendship that grew between them. There was also a sweet dose of romance in the story that I loved. A lovely clean romance with a generous dose of hope and heart.

About the Book

Sometimes it takes losing everything to find yourself again.

Lily Bishop wakes up one morning to find a good-bye note and divorce papers from her husband on the kitchen counter. Having moved to Alabama for his job only weeks before, Lily is devastated, but a flyer at the grocery store for a hair stylist position in a local retirement community provides a refuge while she contemplates her next steps.

Rose Carrigan built the small retirement village of Safe Harbor years ago—just before her husband ran off with his assistant. Now she runs a tight ship, making sure the residents follow her strict rules. Rose keeps everyone at arm’s length, including her own family. But when Lily shows up asking for a job and a place to live, Rose’s cold exterior begins to thaw.

Lily and Rose form an unlikely friendship, and Lily’s salon soon becomes the place where residents share town gossip, as well as a few secrets. Lily soon finds herself drawn to Rose’s nephew, Rawlins—a single dad and shrimper who’s had some practice at starting over—and one of the residents may be carrying a torch for Rose as well.

Neither Lily nor Rose is where she expected to be, but the summer makes them both wonder if there’s more to life and love than what they’ve experienced so far. The Summer House weaves Lauren K. Denton’s inviting Southern charm around a woman’s journey to find herself.

Happy Tuesday that feels like a Monday!

Excited to share with you today my review for this sweet cozy romance! This is the second book in this delightful series that I am thoroughly enjoying!🌸

My Thoughts

Romance, family, heart, and hope. Denise Hunter has written another Sweet cozy romance that made me smile. This is the second book in this delightful series and although it can absolutely be read as a standalone I would encourage you to read the previous book as well. Levi and his siblings are Busy running their family inn. Although Levi has not been completely upfront with his sisters the inn isn’t doing quite as well as he has led them to believe. But Levi is determined to honor his fathers dying words to take care of his sisters. Mia is a big-time movie star whose life is starting to fall apart. Her engagement has been called off and her name is now being drug through the tabloids. She needs a little getaway and why not take her honeymoon trip to that quaint North Carolina town by herself? It has already been paid for. Mia also has familial ties to Levi’s family inn. When Levi and Mia meet there is a instant spark that slowly ignites as the two get to know one another better. But what could this small town innkeeper and movie star possibly have in common?

I sure do love a well told small town romance. Levi and Mia were both likable characters and I really loved watching their relationship develope. I also loved Levi’s relationship with his sisters Molly and Grace. Molly was the focus of the previous book and I liked seeing her relationship continue in a positive direction. There is also the addition of a little family mystery in this book that was lots of fun. Another wonderful installment in this series excited to see what’s in store for Grace.

Barefoot on the Beach by Katlyn Duncan **Book Review** @rararesources

Happy Wednesday all!

Need a little beach in your life? Do I have the perfect beach read for you! 🏖

My Thoughts

Sweet and sandy. Katlyn Duncan has written the perfect feel good beach read. Renee doesn’t do relationships the last thing she wants is to end up like her mother. Instead she has summer flings with the tourists that visit her cute little beach town in New England. And that was working just fine for her until Luke the first and possibly the only boy she ever fell in love with shows back up in town. But is it worth it to give Luke her heart again for him just to leave at the end of summer? A delightful story packed with wedding plans, little sisters, hidden relationships, Beach walks, dogs, volleyball, cookouts, and complicated feelings.

I really liked Renee, but the girl frustrated me and she seriously needed to grow a backbone. Her little sister Kate comes marching into town and expects Renee to drop absolutely everything and plan her wedding. Kate was a very selfish character, not to mention I could not figure out why she was having a wedding all the way across the country from where she lives? But to each their own, I guess. Then there was Renee‘s approach to relationships, never really made sense, how never getting in a serious relationship would stop her from being like her mother? I kind of thought it made her even more like her mother? Renee really needed a good friend to tell her what’s what, and I think Sadie did try she probably just needed to be a little more blunt. I think Renee’s flaws made the story more interesting even though it frustrated me. The romance was super sweet and I was very satisfied with how the story ended. This was the perfect way to visit the beach without all the sand or a need to stop social distancing.

About the Book

Renee Clarke is perfectly happy just the way she is…

Renee may be thrilled to be planning her sister’s wedding, but after witnessing her mother’s two failed marriages, she has always vowed that she is better off on her own.

But when Renee discovers that Luc Hardy has moved next door, her world is knocked off kilter. Luc was her whirlwind summer romance as a teen and, more importantly, her first love. Now he’s back in West Cove, looking more handsome than ever.

There is no escaping the romance in the air this summer. With the wedding planning in full swing, Renee begins to believe that she might be able to put her childhood reservations about marriage aside.

Yet when her mother arrives, she stirs a torrent of emotions in Renee’s heart. She’s up to her old tricks again – boasting about her latest conquests – reaffirming Renee’s lack of faith in love.

As Renee’s happily-ever-after hangs in the balance, will Luc be able to convince her that true love can last forever?

A totally heart-warming summer romance you won’t want to put down! Perfect for fans of Jenny Hale, Susan Mallery and Lucy Coleman.

The New Guy by Kathryn Freeman **Book Review** @rararesources

Happy weekend all!

Hope you are all doing well! Starting to settle into the “new normal”. This was the perfect little escape a sweet romance with a swoon worthy hero! 😳

The New Guy

Sam Huxton doesn’t do one-night stands, especially not with men she’s just met! But the hot guy at the bar was hard to resist and their one night together is one she’ll never forget.

But one night is all they share – no names, no numbers, just some much needed fun…

Until the same guy walks into Sam’s life the next day as her new employee.  Sam never mixes business with pleasure and makes it clear an office fling with Ryan is off-limits.  But after-hours…one thing can lead to another. Can Sam trust her heart and her business with the new guy?

My Thoughts

Well this book was sunshine on a cloudy day! The perfect escape from all the coronavirus news, social distancing, safer at home orders, and the politics. Kathryn Freeman has written a delightful story that made me swoon and smile. Once upon a time Sam and Ryan meet at a bar. Both of them have had a little too much to drink, both of them are a little lonely, and both of them are certain that they will never meet again. There is a definite attraction, but there nothing alike, so one night of great sex is all that there is in the plans. That is until… dun dun dun Ryan shows up at Sam’s work the next day and is her new employee. *awkward* Sam is NOT going to have another office relationship, been there, done that, have the T-shirt. So even though Sam is still crazy attracted to Ryan and as she gets to know him better he becomes more and more attractive, she is keeping her distance. I’m sure you know where this is going… that truly is the comfort of romance you always know no matter what the journey there will always be a happily ever after.

Both Sam and Ryan were likable characters although they both frustrated me many times. They both had some major insecurities that they needed to get a major grip on. I also really liked the secondary characters especially Sam and Ryan‘s coworkers. I have to give a special shout out to Lucas loved his wit and wardrobe! This was the feel-good story that I really needed to brighten my day.

The Magnollia Sisters by Alys Murray **Book Review** @bookouture

So ready for the weekend! This was such a sweet small-town romance with such a gorgeous setting!🌷

My Thoughts

A sweet small town love story. Flowers, family, friendship… This was a fun feel good enemies to lovers romance with a gorgeous flowery setting. Harper enjoys her small-town life working aside her sisters on the family flower farm. When Luke blows into town prepared to do whatever it takes to give his little sister Annie the perfect wedding he and Harper immediately clash. Annie wants to get married on the farm, but Harper immediately gives this idea the kibosh. No amount of money good make up for the disruption to the farm that this would cause. Luke however is not deterred and strikes a deal with Harper‘s father that he will work the farm in order to offset the anticipated disruption. What follows is a sweet story of push and pull, give and take, filled with fun and banter.

This was an easy breezy delightful read. I loved the beautiful setting and the strong family ties. Loved Harper’s bond with her sisters and Luke and his little sister Annie’s bond as well. I also loved the friendship that develop between Harper and Annie. However I have to say Annie seems like a very reasonable person that probably would be OK if big brother Luke told her she could not have her wedding on this farm. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent with these characters and I am hoping that there will be more in store for us from them.

About the Book

Harper Anderson has a to-do list longer than the Colorado river, and fields of tulips to tend to at her family’s flower farm in Hillsboro County, California. It’s her dream to run the business with her sisters when their father retires, keeping up traditions that began with her great-great-grandmother.

That is, if there’s a farm left to run. Rich out-of-towners looking for a slice of country living are hiking up the prices in town and it’s putting her family out of business. So she has no time for the arrogant LA tech mogul who makes her an offer to use their farm as his sister’s wedding venue. No amount of money could make up for the destruction it would wreak on next season’s crop. The sooner Luke Martin is on his way, the better.

But Luke isn’t willing to go. He’s been looking out for his sister ever since their deadbeat parents left them to fend for themselves, and he’ll do whatever it takes to make her happy. So when Harper’s newest farmhand leaves her in the lurch, he sees an opportunity to strike a deal. He’ll work on the farm for free if she’ll give him the chance to change her mind.

Harper and Luke each expect the other to crack first. What they don’t expect is the chemistry that sparks between them as they work side by side among the budding roses. But Luke’s presence is turning over more than the earth, and just as Harper is starting to let her guard down, he stumbles upon a secret that could spell disaster for the entire Anderson clan.

With her family’s happiness at stake, can Harper put her trust in a man who is worlds apart from everything she knows?

An emotional, spellbinding story about family, first impressions and the transformative power of love. Fans of Susan Mallery, Debbie Macomber and Carolyn Brown will be carried away by The Magnolia Sisters.

From Thailand With Love by Camilla Isley **Book Review** @rararesources

Happy Monday all!

Do you like a lot of adventure with your romance? Then this is the book for you! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this romance with an Indiana Jones vibe to it!🐵

From Thailand with Love

All Logan has to do is to get the gold and get the girl. Easy, right?

Travel photographer Winter Knowles and archeology professor Logan Spencer dislike each other at first sight. Stuck together on a wild island, these two unwilling teammates will bicker and banter their way through a laugh-packed treasure hunt.

After years of searching, a new mapping technology has given Logan a clue to the location of the legendary Lost City of Gold. A discovery that could make his career. So the last thing he needs on this life-changing expedition is for his team to get distracted by a pair of long legs.

When Winter accepted the assignment on a tropical island she didn’t sign up for a brooding team leader who’d clearly prefer to run a boys-only club. Never one to back down from a challenge, Winter is ready to show him she’s no damsel in distress.

But when a treasure like no other is uncovered and ruthless enemies will want to keep it for themselves, it’ll be up to the two of them to save the day. Left alone to fight in the jungle, they will soon discover their lives might not be the only thing at stake—their hearts could be too.

Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime.

A fun read packed with danger, action, romance, and comedy.

From Thailand with Love is part of a series of interconnected romantic comedies but can be read as a standalone novel as all the other books in the First Comes Love series.

My Thoughts

An adrenaline pumping, heart pounding, action packed romance.Adventure, Romance, monkeys, secret cities, hidden tunnels, treasure, machetes, mercenaries, mud, insects, rescues, and humor. Wow Camilla Isley this was unexpected! This was so much more than a enemies to lovers romcom. The story starts off innocently enough Winter catches Logan chasing after a monkey who has confiscated his phone. Oh and did I mention that Logan was naked? Then Winter finds out that she will be spending the next month working with Logan, who seems less than pleased. Logan is an archaeologist and Winter is a travel photographer, they will be traveling through the jungles of Thailand looking for a lost city of gold. The story had my heart racing as Logan and Winter fought to survive. This book was very heavy on the adventure, but I have to say I was all in. Winter was a bad ass and Logan wasn’t too bad either. Even though I didn’t always feel the chemistry between them, I think it kind of develop organically and by the time they got together it really worked. Another winner in this fun series and I’m really looking forward to the next one!
