Escape to the Little French café by Karen Clarke @karenclarke123 @bookouture #bookreview #escapetothelittlefrenchcafé

Happy Monday bibliophiles!

Excited to share with you today my review for this charming story that made me want to escape to France! A huge thank you to Noelle for my invitation to the tour and to Karen Clarke for her delightful words!🥐

My Thoughts

A delightful heartwarming story. A lovely romance sprinkled with humor and friendship!

What a fun escape to the French seaside this book was! This is one of those stories that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy, a book that will make you smile, a tale that will leave you craving croissants! Karen Clarke has crafted another engaging story packed with amazing characters and a beautiful setting!

Natalie is picking up the pieces of her broken heart and decides to head to the French seaside for a change of pace and to be closer to her father. This small French Village is the perfect place to mend a broken heart. Natalie also has the company of her BFF Charlie and the dating antics of her dad to keep her mind off her woes. Soon Natalie runs into her old crush Jay, someone who she long-ago shared a fleeting kiss. Natalie is a struggling journalist and she thinks scoring an interview with Jay who is now a major screen star will help elevate her career. Jay grants her the interview and when they meet up Sparks fly. BUT when parts of the interview are leaked Natalie‘s career and her budding romance are in jeopardy.

This was a sweet slow burning romance that was super adorable. Natalie was a great character I really liked her and I really wanted her to find her happily ever after. Her BFF Charlie was great and I have to say I would have had no problem if they had ended up together! And I am keeping my fingers crossed that the next book is about him. Jay and Natalie had some pretty strong chemistry, I really loved reading there romance. This really was a straightforward old-fashioned romance. Set in the sun on the French seashore. What more could you want then sunshine, love, friendship, and croissants?

*** huge thank you to Bookouture for my copy of this book ***

About the Book

On the beautiful French coast lies the Café Belle Vie, a peaceful haven offering a warm welcome and delicious pains au chocolat – and where Natalie’s quiet life is about to be turned upside down…

When thirty-one-year-old Natalie Bright’s boyfriend dumps her and immediately gets engaged to his ex-girlfriend, she escapes her heartbreak and moves to the charming village of Chamillon on the Île de Ré.

She’s determined to build a new life there: writing about farmer’s markets for a local magazine, exploring the local vineyards on her bike, and taking advantage of the sunshine. And in the Café Belle Vie she finds a bustling community – including new best friend Charlie – and a near-constant supply of cakes.

All in all, things are looking pretty good.

So when a blast from the past – her teenage crush Jay Merino – suddenly turns up in Chamillon, Natalie’s thrown. She’s sworn off men ever since she moved to France, but she and Jay have a connection that stretches back years.

But could taking a chance on an old flame complete her new life – or ruin everything she’s worked so hard for?

A gorgeous rom com full of sunshine, croissants and sparkling romance! Perfect for fans of Debbie Johnson, Zara Stoneley and Debbie Macomber.

When You’re Gone by Brooke Harris @Jenelle_Brooke @bookouture #bookreview #whenyouregone

Happy Friday book lovers!

Are you ready for the weekend? I sure am! I’m also excited to share with you my review for this heartbreaking emotional beautiful story that requires tissue on hand! Thank you so much to Kim for my invitation to the tour and to Brooke Harris for her lovely words!!💕

My Thoughts

When it rains look for the rainbow, when it’s dark look for the stars.

A beautifully told story filled with heartbreak and hope. Brooke Harris sure knows how to paint a story with emotion and heart that will tug at your heartstrings. This book touches on some pretty depressing subject matter but it is handled with warmth and compassion. If you have ever suffered a miscarriage or had issues with pregnancy/fertility there could be some possible triggers. But as someone who has had two miscarriages herself I really feel as though this was handled with care.

At its core this is a book about love, especially the love between grandmother and granddaughter. Holly is called home when her beloved grandmother Annie is dying. The bond between them is amazing and the last days they spend together are priceless. Annie still has a story to tell and Holly is the one that needs to hear it. The story bounces back and forth in time Annie’s story in 1959 and Holly’s story in present day. Earth grandmother and granddaughter’s stories are heart wrenching and emotional bursting with love and family and grief. Annie’s story is about a magical love of a lifetime a tale that will not only pull at your heartstrings but squeeze them until they hurt. Holly story is equally as emotional this is a book that requires at least one box of Kleenex!

This is one of those books that will put your heart through the ringer and leave you with a book hangover the next day. A story that will evoke every possible emotion you have and some you didn’t even know you did. The characters are likable and relatable the type of characters that will stick with you long after the book has ended. Next time you are in the mood for a book with all the feels, beautiful storytelling, and a cast of amazing characters, this is your book! Absolutely recommend!

*** A big thank you to Bookouture for my copy of this book ***

About the Book

Holly was overjoyed to discover she was pregnant. But the baby is unwell, and her relationship is fracturing under the stress. Just when she is at her lowest, she receives the worst news of all: her beloved nana, Annie, is dying.

But Annie has one final wish before she leaves. She asks Holly to find a memory box in the attic, and to read the handwritten pages within it to her, the most precious things she owns.

It’s the story of Arthur ‘Sketch’ Talbot, Annie’s first – and last – love, and how much he sacrificed to save her from a home where she didn’t feel safe. It’s Annie’s promise to Holly that it doesn’t matter how long you love someone – but how much.

As Holly reads her nana’s story to her one last time, could it help her find the strength to face her own future? Is fulfilling her grandmother’s final wish really a gift for Holly?

Compelling, heart-breaking, and emotionally vivid, When You’re Gone will break your heart and fix it anew. A gripping and emotional novel about family, love and sacrifice, for fans of Diane Chamberlain, Susan Lewis and Kathryn Hughes’ The Letter.

Previously published as When It Rains. This edition contains significant editorial revisions.

The Harte Series went on to become a #1 international bestseller.

It Started With a Note by Victoria Cooke @VictoriaCooke10 @rararesources #bookreview #itstartedwithanote #giveaway

TGIF book lovers!

Excited to share with you today my review for this delightful book! A huge thank you to Rachel for my invitation to the tour and to Victoria Cooke for her engaging story!💕

It Started With A Note

One lost letter. A chance to change her life!

Superhero single mum Cath always puts other people first. But now that she’s seen her son safely off to university (phew!), life seems a little, well…empty.

So when Cath unexpectedly discovers some letters written by her great-grandfather during the First World War, she decides to take herself on an adventure to France to retrace his footsteps.

Cath expects to spend her holiday visiting famous battlefields and testing out her French phrase book. What she doesn’t anticipate is that her tour guide, the handsome Olivier, will be quite so charming! Soon Cath isn’t simply unearthing the stories of the past – she’s writing a brand new one of her own, which might end up taking her in a very unexpected direction…

My Thoughts

A lovely romance set in France sprinkled with history!

This was another wonderful romance from Victoria Cooke. Something I really enjoy about her stories is they are full of lovable relatable characters that you truly enjoy getting to know. Cath The female MC in this story is a single mother whose son has just gone off to university and now she needs to re-define who she is. As A single mother whose kids are almost all grown up I could really relate to this. when your kids are young being a mom defines you, my friends were my kids friends moms, my trips were taken when my kids had a competition or tournament, everything I did I did for them, and I don’t regret a single moment. All this is to say I could completely relate to Cath, perhaps I should go search out some old letters, I believe my grandfather was in WWI and then I should head to France myself.

Cath discovers a box of her grandfather’s letters sent to his wife and daughter, during the First World War. Feeling a bit lost because her son has just gone off to university Cath decides to take a trip to France, to see where her grandfather had served during the war, A war he did not return from. Once in France she meets the handsome tour guide Olivier. But is Cath ready for this new chapter in her life?

A tender love story packed with some pretty colorful characters. The romance between Cath and Olivier was sweet, they had a genuine authentic connection. I also learned some things in this book through all the visits to the French war sights. There is a definite blend of melancholy and beauty in the story. Another well-crafted romance from Victoria Cooke! Recommend!

Don’t miss the new delightfully uplifting book from the author of A Recipe for Disaster!

A second chance at love…

When globe-trotting Emmy first fell for first-aider William on a freezing New Year’s Eve, she really believed that their love would go the distance.

So she’s shocked when William walks in on her very first day at her new job! Even worse, he’s hotter than ever. But why did he disappear for so long? What has he been hiding? And could this really be their second chance at falling in love…?

Perfect for fans of Carole Mathews, Mhairi McFarlane and Carrie Hope Fletcher.

My Thoughts

Emmy and Will meet while on vacation… their connection is strong, but can it withstand the test of thousands of Miles? At first they remain in contact email, text, all the means of communication we have available to us today… but when communication stops Emmy is heartbroken… some Time goes by and she finds herself moving to London for a new job… where…. guess who she runs into? SO will Emmy and Will get a second chance at love?

such a fun flirty feel good story filled with humor and heart… Emmy and Will are both very likable, quite adorable together, and I really enjoyed the banter between them… this is the type of story that makes you want to believe in love and happily ever after…

The Day We Met by Roxie Cooper @toodletinkbaby @EburyPublishing @annecater #bookreview #valentineread #RandomThingsTours #thedaywemet

Happy Monday! Hope you had a wonderful relaxing weekend!

Excited to share with you today a story perfectly perfect for Valentine’s Day!🌹🌹🌹 A huge thank you to Anne Cater for my invitation to the tour and to Roxie Cooper for her lovely story!💕💕

The Day We Met by Roxie Cooper

My Thoughts

A romantic story full of emotion and fated love💕

Roxie Cooper has painted a beautiful Story with her words… she turned me the cynic into a true believer in soulmates, well for at least the length of this book… sometimes I wonder why I Love reading romance, I certainly don’t believe in epic love or one true love or soulmates or any of that… but then again I occasionally enjoy a vampire or werewolf book and I certainly don’t believe in them either… this is a book that on paper I really should not have enjoyed, it is about two people who are involved with other people who cannot help but be drawn to one another… my cynical and jaded brain says, BS people can help who they are drawn to, and people aren’t drawn to others unless they’re out looking for it, so I don’t buy this premise for one single minute! And I probably still believe all this, however this book was aBSOLUTELY FABULOUS!

Stephanie and Jamie meet one weekend at an art retreat… Stephanie and Jamie have instant chemistry, the problem? Stephanie is engaged to Matt and Jamie is married to Helen… Stephanie and Jamie recognize there is a strong connection between them unlike no other, but they respect their significant others…. for the next decade they meet up about once a year as friends, but can two people with this strong of a connection stay just friends? Now my logical brain at this point was saying, I certainly wouldn’t want someone to stay with me when they were this fated to be with somebody else? And I think that was my biggest struggle with this Matt and Helen deserve better than what they were getting… but life is messy and nothing is ever black-and-white, this book really had my emotions flying all over the place….

The story is told from the perspective of both Jamie and Stephanie… and not just when they are together we also got a front row seat look at their family life with their significant others who were good people…. Stephanie and Jamie were also extremely likable, seriously I really liked these two characters and I really wanted them to end up together, even though I thought it was wrong… or maybe I didn’t? See what I’m saying very messy and a whole lot of gray! Matt and Helen were very likable as well I wanted nothing but the best for them, I was so torn throughout this entire book… this book was truly playing with my emotions and then… and then… that ending! What? All I’m going to say is have tissue handy!

An exquisite love story that will pull at your heartstrings and leave you reeling and in tears! Recommend!

🎵🎵🎵 Song Running Through My Head

The day we met,
Frozen I held my breath
Right from the start
I knew that I’d found a home for my heart
Beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I’m afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone?
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don’t be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more
Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What’s standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this
One step closer
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don’t be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed I would find you…

The Secret to Falling in Love by Victoria Cooke @victoriacooke10 @rararesources #bookreview #giveaway #bookbirthday

Happy Saturday book lovers!

We are fast approaching the day of love! Excited to share with you my review for this lovely story filled with a tremendous amount of heart! Big thanks to Rachel for my invitation to the tour and to Victoria Cook for her beautiful story!💕

The Secret to Falling in Love

Lifestyle journalist and thirty-something singleton Melissa hashtags, insta’s and snapchats her supposedly fabulous life on every social media platform there is.

That is until she wakes up on her birthday, another year older and still alone, wondering if for all her internet dates, love really can be found online? The challenge: go technology free for a whole month!

Forced to confront the reality of her life without its perfect filters, Melissa knows she needs to make some changes. But when she bumps into not one, but two gorgeous men, without the use of an app, she believes there could be hope for love offline.

If only there was a way to choose the right guy for her…

My Thoughts

A fun lighthearted love story guaranteed to make you smile!

This was an entertaining story all about unplugging and finding love the old-school way… while this was amusing, it also made me feel old, because this is exactly how it was when I was dating… no online dating sites, no apps, no social media, no cell phones… back in the Day we had to go out and meet people, exchange phone numbers on paper, and then*gasp* wait for a phone call on the landline, I know, crazy right!

Melisa is a 35-year-old independent and single woman… just like a lot of us she can’t go very long without looking at her screen… so when she decides to unplug it is a bit of culture shock… she Hass to pick her head up and start living in the real world… so how different is it to find love off-line, especially because Melisa was not very successful with the modern methods…. soon she finds she has met two handsome men, and is in a bit of a pickle and a bit of a love triangle… so will Melisa successfully stay unplugged for an entire month? Will she find true love the old-fashioned way? You’ll need to read this book to find out!

Such a fun upbeat love story… mellisa was a warm wonderful character that you can’t help but route four… The rest of the characters were charming and quirky as well… really the perfect pick me up read especially suitable for Valentines week!💕

🎵🎵🎵 song running through my head, yes it’s old-school, but so appropriate!😃

… Well, I’ve spent a lifetime lookin’ for you;
singles bars and good time lovers were never true.
Playin’ a fools game hopin’ to win;
and tellin’ those sweet lies and losin’ again.
I was lookin’ for love in all the wrong places,
Lookin’ for love in too many faces,
searchin’ their eyes and lookin’ for traces
of what I’m dreamin’ of.
Hopin’ to find a friend and a lover;
I’ll bless the day I discover
another heart lookin’ for love.
And I was alone then, no love in sight;
and I did ev’rything I could to get me though the night.
Don’t know where it started or where it might end;
I turned to a stranger just like a friend.
I was lookin’ for love in all the wrong places,
Lookin’ for love in too many faces,
searchin’ their eyes and lookin’ for traces
of what…

Excerpt

: This is an unedited excerpt and is subject to change.

I’m startled out of my thoughts when my brother jumps up and shouts a bunch of profane nonsense, hands flailing like he’s trying to swim on land, or approximate the chicken dance while on an LSD trip.

“You can’t do this! It’s absolute bullshit!” Armstrong yells.

I look around the table, trying to piece together what I missed.

“I’m sorry, Armstrong. I know this is a shock, but we feel it’s in the company’s best interest to put Lincoln at the helm during this transitional stage,” G-mom says firmly.

At the helm? I look to G-mom who’s busy not looking at me.

Armstrong jabs at finger at himself. “But I’m the one who’s put in all the time here! I deserve to run the company! Lincoln doesn’t know the first thing about Moorehead. All he knows how to do is dig wells and forage for food in the wilderness. How are those valuable assets here?” He turns his attention to our mother. “Did you know about this? How can you let this happen? Look at him. How can that be the face of our company? He looks like he crawled out of a gutter and mugged a twenty-year-old college kid on a bender. How is this better for our bottom line?”

My mother clasps her hands in front of her. “I’m sorry, Armstrong, but this decision wasn’t mine to make. I know this is hard for you, but your grandmother and fath—”

Armstrong stomps his foot, exactly as a toddler would. “The company is mine! Lincoln can’t have it!”

I raise a hand, half to quiet my brother and also to find out what the freaking deal is. “Whoa, let’s back this bus up. Can someone explain what’s going on?”

“You’ve been appointed as the CEO of Moorehead Media, according to the will,” Christophe—no R, because that would make it far too pedestrian a name—my father’s lawyer says.

I’m working on trying to remain calm as I address my grandmother. “You didn’t say anything about me being CEO. You said you needed my help.”

“Running the company, yes,” she says through a practiced, stiff smile.

It’s her warning face, but seriously, when she said she needed my help for a few months I figured it meant I’d be keeping Armstrong in line while she sorted out who was going to take over the company, which I realize now was a stupid assumption.

“I didn’t think that meant CEO. How am I going to run a company with this dickhead on staff?” I motion to my brother.

“The name calling is unnecessary,” G-mom replies.

“Lincoln’s not even part of this family! He hasn’t attended one event in the past five years except for Dad’s funeral. He didn’t bother coming to my wedding and now he’s going to run the company? How is that fair?”

I snort. “Your wedding was an expensive joke.”

He crosses his arms over his chest. “I was set up. Amalie had cold feet and made me out to look like the bad guy.”

The woman beside him shoots him disgusted look.

Armstrong clears his throat and tugs at his collar. “My wedding is not the real issue. The point is that you’ve never involved yourself in any part of this family and now you think you can come in and take over. I will not stand by and let this happen!” He keeps jabbing his finger at me, as if he’s engaged in a finger sword fight.

I lean back in my chair and lace my fingers behind my neck. Armstrong has always been reactive. And self-absorbed. For a while it seemed like he finally had it together—back when he was engaged. But ever since that fiasco of a wedding he seems to have come completely unglued. Again. But worse this time. “Someone needs a timeout.”

In Paris With You by Clementine Beauvais @wednesdaybooks @StMartinsPress #bookreview #aktbmbookblog

Happy hump day bibliophiles!

Delighted to share with you today my review for this lovely love story set in Paris and translated from French! Ooo La La 😍

In Paris With You by Clementine Beauvais

My Thoughts

An elegant story of first love, second chances, and heartbreak!

This story was told in verse, it took a wild to get used to the style, but once I did I was completely entranced… The book was also translated from French, I can only imagine how difficult it was to translate such a stylized book, so major props to the translator! As much as I enjoyed this story, I do recognize that the style is not for everybody…. but told in verse or not this was a lovely love story set in the city of love, Paris…

This is the story of Tatiana and Eugene, who first fell in love as teenagers…. first love, the heart is a pitter pattering the butterflies are fluttering, and you can’t seem to wipe that silly grin off your face…. but as in the case of most first love Tatiana and Eugene did not last…. then years later a chance encounter and the sparks are rekindled…. but life is complicated and love is messy, even in Paris…

Such a sweet satisfying story of love and loss… both Tatiana and Eugene were likable and a little quirky…. The story really transported you to Paris, you could see the sights, hear the sounds, and smell the scents of the city… a cleverly told love story… I’m not sure I could read every book in verse, but it was nice for a little change of pace…

If you love amour and Beautiful settings this one’s for you! Recommended!

*** merci beaucoup to St. Martin’s Press for my copy of this book ***

About the Book

A runaway bestseller in France, Clémentine Beauvais’s In Paris With You is a love story you won’t soon forget.

Eugene and Tatiana had fallen in love that summer ten years ago. But certain events stopped them from getting to truly know each other and they separated never knowing what could have been.

But one busy morning on the Paris metro, Eugene and Tatiana meet again, no longer the same teenagers they once were.

What happened during that summer? Does meeting again now change everything? With their lives ahead of them, can Eugene and Tatiana find a way to be together after everything?

Written in gorgeous verse, In Paris With You celebrates the importance of first love. Funny and sometimes bittersweet this book has universal appeal for anyone who has been in love.

have a beautiful day! Berit☀️✨

Christmas Secrets by the Sea by Jane Lovering @janelovering @farragobooks #bookreview

Happy Monday book lovers!

Excited to share with you today my review for this wonderful story full of so much emotion and hope! Many thanks to Farrago Books and Jane Lovering for reaching out and inviting me to review this book💚❤️💚

CSBTS Cover ImageSometimes you don’t get the Christmas presents you imagined…

Tansy Merriweather is down on her luck. She’s lost her business and her relationship, and instead of a glamorous London apartment, her home is now a campervan on a Dorset beach. And as if things couldn’t get any worse, a scruffy dog called Brian with a taste for sardines has adopted her as his owner.

When Tansy’s new-found friends at the cafe in the bay help her find a job as a location scout for a new TV show, things start looking up. However, she soon discovers that the show’s glamorous star, Davin O’Riordan, is as grouchy as he is handsome – and just as Brian starts forging a touching romance with Davin’s elegant whippet Seelie, Tansy begins to wonder exactly what Davin’s fans see in him.

As Christmas approaches, Tansy and Davin discover each other’s secrets, and a new bond begins to grow between them. But how will they cope with the storms headed their way – and can they save the cafe from closing?

My Thoughts

A heartwarming and heartwrenching read full of emotion and hope!

This is not a light fluffy Christmas story, this is a book full of emotion and struggle that will take you on a wonderful journey… as you all know I adore a fun festive story, but this book took hold of my heart and did not let go until the bitter end… an emotional ride that will make you smile, make you laugh, make you angry, make you cry, but at the end of the day it will leave you with a warm toasty feeling in your heart…. I truly loved this story from first page to last, I was completely captivated by these characters!

Tansy has lost everything her company, her boyfriend, her beautiful flat… The only thing she has left from her old life is a camper van, so she sets off in her van to temporarily live on the beach…Tansy finds herself in a small village where she befriends the owner of a café and her son, and takes a job as a TV location scout… turns out part of the job is taking care of the grumpy, grouchy, brooding, star Devin… i’m sure you can figure out where this is going? But let me tell you it was so much more than your typical romance, these two characters had some major depth and some major baggage… not to mention two adorable dogs who had a love story of their very own!

This was a very slow burning realistic romance full of angst and misunderstanding… both Tansy and Davin were likable sympathetic characters… both of their backstories were quite heartbreaking, but I loved reading about what made them the people they are today…. The secondary characters added so much charm to the story even the obnoxious vegan actress… this is the first book in the series, and I am really hoping that we will revisit these characters in future books…

Strongly encourage you to pick this up if you are a fan of a well done romance with some depth and emotion💕 don’t let the title fool you, this book can be read any time of the year!

One Day in December by Josie Silver @JosieSilver_ #6bookbestiesonedayindecember #6bookbestieapproved #bookreview

Happy Tuesday bibliophiles!

So excited to share with you today this beautiful love story that is definitely making my favorites of 2018 list! We were all so very lucky that Jennifer was offered this book from Goodreads and the publisher to read with her book Besties💕💕💕 such a beautiful story to get to share, read, and discuss together!😍

One Day in December by Josie Silver

My Thoughts

LOOOVED IT!!! Every page, every sentence, every word, every letter!!!

In case you cannot tell I have fallen head over heels in love with this book! It has earned a place on my fave shelf and is absolutely one of my top five reeds of 2018… such a beautiful story, so full of love and heart…. this is an epic love story spanning an entire decade… a story with all the feels, you will laugh, you will cry, you will smile, you will shake your head, you will fall in love… this book will break your heart over and over again and then fill it back up with love just as many times! Simply put it was MAGICAL!

Laurie doesn’t believe in love at first sight until she glimpses a boy at the bus stop…Laurie was such a wonderful character so well developed, I felt as though I would know her if she were walking down the street… adored her friendship with Sarah, one of my absolute favorite parts of this book… such a positive realistic portrayal of what a female friendships should be…. of course they have their ups and downs, but at the end of the day they were always there for one another…. all three of the main characters in this book Laurie, Sarah, and Jack were well drawn likable characters that you definitely could relate to…

Told from alternating points of view… we got the insights and perceptions of both Laurie and Jack threwout the decade… The book was structured brilliantly you never were confused as to who was narrating and what year it was… in fact the entire book is told linearly, there was no jumping around kind of nice for a change….

I absolutely recommend this stunning story to everyone with a heart! A wonderful Christmas read!

This was a group read with my Book Besties… Jennifer was approached by Goodreads and the publisher with this book and just as a true friend does she included all of us! How appropriate for a group of friends to read a story with such a tremendous focus on friendship… we had a wonderful discussion, we were all captivated by this story! We also thought it would make a fantastic movies, we even casted it… I thought I’d share our choices with you all!

Laurie we thought should be played bye Shailene Woodley, Sarah played by Jennifer Lawrence, and Jack buy either Liam Hemsworth or Zac Efron… have you read this? What do you think?

*** huge thanks to Goodreads, Crown Publishing, and Jennifer for my copy of this book ***

About the Book

A love story about what happens after you meet, or rather, don’t meet the one.

Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn’t exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there’s a moment of pure magic…and then her bus drives away.

Certain they’re fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn’t find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they “reunite” at a Christmas party, when her best friend Sarah giddily introduces her new boyfriend to Laurie. It’s Jack, the man from the bus. It would be.

What follows for Laurie, Sarah and Jack is ten years of friendship, heartbreak, missed opportunities, roads not taken, and destinies reconsidered. One Day in December is a joyous, heartwarming and immensely moving love story to escape into and a reminder that fate takes inexplicable turns along the route to happiness.
